Hi, The exclamation point in triangle blinking is the "Emergency Blinker" This blinker turns on all all of the turn signal lamps at all four corners of the car. Left and Right, Front and Back. The triangle represents the European symbol for roadside emergencies. In fact on European Mercedes and other cars there is a triangle shaped reflector you can put behind the car so that other drivers know you have an emergency. THAT TRIANGLE ON YOUR DASHBOARD IS A BUTTON. PUSH IT ONCE. THE BLINKING SHOULD STOP. If you have a roadside emergency, and are broken down by the side of the rode. Push the Red Triangle and your lights will blink on and off ouTside to say, in effect "help".
Hope this helps.
Best,
Mark
Hi, here is some additional data concerning a feature that is unique to Mercedes. I have an older one, so this feature is not in my vehicle. There is also a Yellow triangle on the dashboard of later model Mercedes vehicles. It blinks YELLOW to denote that the stability control system has been activated. What will happen if you are approaching the handling limit in curves or slippery pavement is that the car's computer will try to take you out of a skid by applying the brakes selectively. When this occurs the yellow light will blink. If the light is blinking constantly, I would take the car to a Mercedes Mechanic to correct this problem. The reason being is that the Stability system, which was invented by Mercedes is a very sophisticated device that can save your life in certain situations. I hope this further clarifies your question. Best, Mark
Here is a link to a Mercedes video that shows the Stability systemhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wja6wCZP9...

ESP = Electronic Stability Program malfunction indicator lamp (MIL)
1. You can try to disconnect the battery from car terminals, waiting for 30 minutes and connect again the cables in order to reset the ESP Electronic Control Unit (ECU).
2. If this procedure does not work you must use a diagnostic equipment connected to the Data Link Connector (DLC) of the car. The ESP ECU fault memory can only be accessed and erased using diagnostic equipment connected to the DLC.
Note: ESP function includes ABS (Antilock Braking System) function!
