The most common cause of this is the drive belt is worn. If you remove the cover (usually plastic) in the middle of the snow thrower and look at the belt closest to the blower assembly. This is the blower drive belt. (Your operators manual will show you the location and how to remove the cover if you are unfamiliar with your snow blower)
With the engine not running, have someone depress the drive lever and check the belt. You should only be able to depress the long side 1/2 inch or less. More than that the belt has stretched and needs to be replaced. On some older blowers you can adjust the tension pulley, but most made in the last 15 years, you can't.
The belt may be frayed on the edges or glazed causing it to slip (it is shiny on the sides of the belt)
You can get parts (the new belt) through your local Ariens dealer or jackssmallengines.com

Have a gravel driveway bought a Ariens 24 Snow Thro adjusted skid shoes to lift machine, is the scraper blade also adjustable, it is throwing a lot of rocks?

Yes, they are all adjustable. Loosen the hardware, Find something to use as a shim... a few paint can stirrers.. put them under the Scraper to lift it about 3/8" then tighten the hardware. See how that helps the stone throwing. Gravel driveways are tough for Blowers and Plows...It's best to actually leave snow on the driveway to pack down and form a Base. Then the next snow will be stone free.

Why sno thro continues to run after ice block is removed

Because that is how it's designed. It's designed to run again, after you remove ice block.

Auger does not engage on Ariens Model 924121 sno- Thro

first check shear pins in the auger ( try to turn big auger by hand, engine off)
then if they are good then try to turn impeller by hand, engine off
youll need to turn it a few times before the larger ones turn, but thats what you want
if they dont turn then you have sheared the gear box gears
be sure belts are good tooo

Auger shaft jamed

Try removing the belt and turning it by hand. If that doesn't work, you may have blown something into bits inside of the gear case.

Where is the spark plug located on an Ariens Sno-Thro compact?

I am assuming this is a 22 or 24 inch model. The engine is an overhead valve design and the spark plug is buried on the left side of the motor (looking at it from the handles) You should be able to see a large black wire going into the engine. Depending on the engine make it may have a rubber cover or just plug wire covering the plug.
On this page are pictures showing the location of the spark plugs on Briggs & Stratton engines.
http://www.briggsandstratton.com/engines/support/frequently-asked-questions/Identifying%20the%20correct%20spark%20plug%20and%20gap.aspx
The OHV horizontal shaft engines are about half-way down the page.

Wet snow plugs auger what can I do

Very common problem....try either Mo-deck or Ariens Sno-jet spray inside all the surfaces that the snow touches. It helps to keep snow from sticking.

New ariens 921 Series Sno-Throw snow blower will not start for first time even though I have followed the user manual instructions.

Remove the spark plug and test for spark, and check for fuel on the plug internal insulator. If no spark, check the ignition switch. If the plug is not wet, make sure the fuel is turned on. Beyond this, take the machine back to the dealer and have them start it. If they get it running, ask for starting clues. Hope this helps!
