Question about Lexmark Printers & Copiers

Lexmark x1180 Printer switches on can still scan but will not print. Have unpluged all from electric. tried to uninstall but get told printer still working. Unable to re install as computer say already in. can you posibly tell me what to do I am an old age pensioner and only learning

I tried to do the things you smilie sugested and was un able to I also lost him. My brother in law rang and was able to find what to do. Thank you for your help.We managed to find the software page and deleate work that was in it . Put there by my grandson who was playing a game so we thought. Deleting the baklog then deleting the printer and reinstalling, cured the problem

There is a possibility of conflict of software since you mention that you installed various drivers for your model. Try to unintall the driver first. Follow the steps in this article: How to Uninstall Lexmark Printers. Reboot your pc when prompted. To reinstall the driver, click on this link: Lexmark X1180 Vista 64-bit Driver. Follow the steps on your computer screen.

My Lexmark all-in-one model X4690 printer won't print the bottom border on a page. Is this an alignment problem? How do I fix this problem? Thanx


Its possibly a driver problem, try uninstalling the printer and then installing it again. It should correct any communication problems, you need to also unplug the printer after you have uninstalled it.

if you scan directly on the printer, does it print correctly?

IS IT POSSIBLE TO GET A TEST PRINT OR SCAN TEST WITHOUT THE X1180 BEING CONNECTED TO A PC?


No, if you print or scan, you need always to store the file on a computer, and if you use copy function, you still need the computer, as copy function allowed on this printer is only Colour Copying with PC .

This printer cannot print, scan or copy if it is not connected to a computer.

Thanks for the posting in FIXYA.

Is it attached to your HP Laptop in Network through LAN Cable?

Does any flag shown in the Device Manager list?

Try this -->

Go to Start -->Printers and Faxes..

Now, right click on your Lexmark printer icon and select "Properties"..

Click on the "Port" tab along the top..

What port does it say you are using??

Try after unplug and replug the cables.

hmmm..ok...unplug the printer, and then check connections to back of it..

then get some fresh drivers here

My 4 in 1 wont scan but does print


Before we give up on the scanning/copying ability of your machine. Try unplugging the machine from the wall and from the computer for at least a couple minutes. If that doesn't work, You may also check for a factory reset switch or reset mode you can choose. http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/downloads.cgi?category=Drivers&ccs=229:1:0:94:0:0&os_group=WinXP&searchLang=en Last but not least. Uninstall the printer again, unplug it from the wall and computer. Make sure you restart the machine and even shut it down before trying to reinstall the drivers. The above site has a patch for the scanner. Not sure if its what may be ailing yours. Let me know what happens. Good Luck, Tim

My printer not responding


Ok, so you have tried a reset and no good. Try this again but this time unplug it too, all cords and cables. Replug, turn it on. Wait. Once reset again, check to see no print jobs queued and if so, cancel all print jobs by clicking on start, control panel, printers, icon of printer, scrol to properties, cancel print jobs. Try reprinting now.

Not sure but i went to a down load site and downloaded my drives again and mine started working go to google and type in lexmark 1180 printer drives
