My nephews wii wont spin the disk,, it will take the disk in and eject it but throws up an error when you try to play the game, i am an electronics tech in the navy and figured the drive motor was bad so i replaced it,, still the same issue, can someone tell me where this relay switch is that initiates the spinning of the disc when it is inserted all the way. i am sure i can replace it on my own or if anyone has any other ideas,, my nephew LOVES his wii and i would like to save the day

The motor didn't go out, the laser itself did. The laser is what actually controls the motor spinning.

Swap the laser out and you should be good to go. I find it's easier to swap the whole drive out complete. It will cost a little more but it's well worth the time and frustration you will face ;)

I had this same problem, its just a issue with the disk driver hand (Its the hand that pulls GC disk and Wii disk into the disk holder) to fix pick up the wii, tilt it upright (to where the back of the wii (where the USB ports are)) is facing the ground and the disk slot is facing the ceiling. Simply put the disk in the console and gravity should do the rest. Also the disk will eject really easily so don't worry about the disk getting stuck inside of the console.

i am having this same problem.... found this bit of info, hope it helps.

The most common reason for the Wii not reading discs is a bad drive. The following website sells the drives and does installs:

store.richspsxparts.com/wiiredvddr

This drive should fix any reading issues you are having with your games, or issues inserting your games or ejecting them (or lack thereof). This is the entire DVD drive assembly mechanism replacement for your Wii including a new laser. If your discs are not ejecting, or you cannot insert a disc -- or you can insert a disc but it will not load, this is what you need to get your Wii going again!

Sounds like the drive or the laser has been dis lodged and needs to be repaired. Simple if you have basic electronics repair experience. Shouldn't cost too much to be repaired at a service centre, unless parts need replacing.

Hope this has been helpful.

Wont play games

The official troubleshooting from Nintendo is-

"Error Occurred. Press the Eject button and remove the disc"
This indicates a problem with the Wii console and it will need to be repaired. Please call 1-800-255-3700 to discuss available options.

Not taking disks

I have the same problem but I have a solution!

If you unplug your Wii's power you can slide the disk inside. When you turn the Wii back on you should be able to play.
