When I turn knob it makes sound like it is starting but will never start. This applies to any position of the knob. Any help is appreciated.

The water is a lil bit left over. I checked the hoses and the eletrical and it all seems fine. When i try to turn it on it makes a sound like it will try but then it doesnt. With and without the soap lid closed. Dishwasher is totally clean.

WizOpen the service panel in the front bottom, so you can see the motor. It sounds like it is locked-up. Look at the motor and try to free up the motor impellor.

I discovered a completely different solution, that I'm actually embarassed to mention, but here you go. After following the advice of jbjaxiis (thanks for the suggestion) and not finding the problem, I ended up looking at the electrical cord. I followed it to under my sink only to find that something was placed on top of the cord causing it to disconnect partially from electrical socket.
So, long story short.....the electrical cord wasn't fully plugged in.
So glad I didn't call anyone out to fix it only to find the problem could've been solved in a 2 seconds. :D Good Luck!
