Installed new compressor. Pressures on rail only run about 25 low 250 high. When cabinet calls for cooling, pressure on low side climbs to about 45 roughly. Fresh food cabinet alone runs 18-22 on the low side, and about 225-230 on the high side. All five fans on rail operational and clear, as well as is the fresh food cabinet fan. Seems the first two evaporators on the rail are frosting first, and there is a complaint of food at the far end of the rail running 7 or so degrees f to warm. What could be the issues?

First check to see if the fans are running in reverse because on there way out they sometimes do that ,also check to see if the coils are dirty ,that goes for both condenser and evaporator.

SOURCE: Why is my evaporator, refrigerator and freezer not

Your system uses R-134a refrigerant.

If the compressor is running but it's not cooling, you probably have a refrigerant leak or possibly a restriction in your evaporator.

Unfortunately, refrigerant leaks are not DIY friendly, so my advise would be to call a competent repairman.

R-22 home condenser unit low side and high side pressures when running

Pressures look good but to know if it is charged correctly you have to do a sub cool or superheat to know for sure. Rule of thumb is if turn unit it on let it run 10 minutes. If the suction line sweats and is cold. Might be proper charge.

91honda prelude ac pressures good, no cooling

Sounds like low charge or poss defective AC compressor or the expansive valve has moisture in it. Did you pull a vacuum on the system for 45 minutes before adding refrigerant?

I have a 2006 mitsubishi lancer. The a/c works intermittently. Works the least the hotter the day gets. The presures are 25 low side & 145 high side @ idle. What are the proper pressures ? I beleive...

Those pressures are OK and within specs. I would suspect the cooling issue lies with the air temperature control blend door actuator and or the blend door sticking in the ducting due to warpage.

My carrier unit #38TKB042300 / 3794E16886 Is not cooling. The Compressor is not running. I thought maybe the capacitor might be bad so I put a new one one. The compressor comes on and runs for 3-4...

Check the running pressures and if the low side drops to low it may be shutting down on low pressure switch.I just used this as a rule of thumb. If the outside air temp is around 90 degrees then the pressures should be in the range of 60-70 on the low side. And 250-300 on the high side. If you can get the compressor to stay on then I would clean The a-coil and condensor to get maximum effiency.Thank you.

The A/c initally is cold but the longer it runs the warmer it gets. How can I tell which part is failing e.g. the compressor, evaporator or the expasion valve?

Do you have gauges? Write down the following on a grid High side, low side, Ambient temp out side, temp coming out of the condenser, temp at intake in the house, temp coming out of the vent. Chart this over time. I bet you will see your pressures climb. Watch the high side to see if it moves back and forth a few PSI... This is an indication that the expansion valve is working (opening and closing). If the system has too much pressure it will cool at first and gradually cool less as the pressures go up. An over charged system is ineffective.

When you get the pressures charted post the grid on here.

Air conditioner in 1999 mercury tracer won't work. It's not the compressor nor does it have a leak. what could be the problem?

the tracer is the same as the ESCORT, right?? TRY THIS--I WORK ON PLENTY OF ESCORTS--LOOK UNDER THE AIR CLEANER/CONE ASSEMBLY--THERE WILL BE A BLACK METAL BOX(FULL OF RELAYS) ONE OF WHICH IS THE A/C RELAY--TRY TAPPING ON IT WITH A LONG SCREWDRIVER OR SOMETHING SIMILAR WHILE U HAVE THE A/C ON. IF THE A/C SUDDENLY STARTS WORKING U NEED TO GET A NEW RELAY BOX(I THINK ITS CALLED A GEM MODULE) i do have a question- does the blower motor work?? how do u know the compressor is good??do you have 12 volts going to it??? this relay box is pretty common to go bad--u have to remove the air cleaner in order to get to it.get back to me.

Delfield 'New 6000XL 6051 Side by Side Refrigerator

How was this unit originally equipped? TXV? Use only a TXV OF CORRECT size. In refrigeration if you have a 6000btu rating you do not use a 1/2 ton valve you use a 1/4 ton (3000btuh) at most and would need consulting with an engineer to arrive at the correct valve.

SO was the TXV the other fellow replaced an OEM valve? If not this may be the problem as most TXV's off the shelf are designed for walk-in refrigeration Not Reach ins. An OEM valve may be the trouble here.

Now not to stress the TXV but also the compressor (what was the original model?) Make sure it is designed for the particular heat range and size for this application. As you probably know 1 size compressor designs for AC will not be OK on Refrigeration at same BTU rating.

Call Del field and verify what they are using or recommending for this unit. model and Seal no required and the existing model and SN.

Also to my knowledge a receiver is not required and in fact will only add to your trouble. Receivers are for changes (wide differences) in condensing temperature and pressure. Never saw an application for one with a condenser designed from factory for indoor use with either type of expansion device.

If you need Del fileds number email me at [email protected] and in th subject line enter delfield?.
