Question about Samsung DVD-VR330 VCR and DVD Recorder
Everytime a cd is inserted it ususally ejects the cd saying the disc cannot be played. It used to work but now thats all it says. It sys the same for Dvd's blanks cd's and previously recorded ones.
You have a dirty laser lens! There are two different ways to solve this problem on this unit...( and yes, I do own this unit and have cleaned it both ways)!
First and most simple method.......Go to WalMart. Spend $15.00. Buy a DVD laser lens cleaner. Follow the instuctions. Use after every 10 hours of play.
Second and more complex. On excessively dirty lenses that have not been cleaned with the above mentioned product....get a Philips screwdriver.
Remove three screws in the rear of the unit, and two more screws ....one on each side of the case that hold the top portion (black in color) of the case together. This top portion will simply slide off by pulling it backward from the from the faceplate (which does not need to be removed).
If unplugged, plug the dvd player in and eject the tray. Unplug the player leaving the tray out. Locate the laser lens.... (a clear piece of plastic that is round and about 3/16" in diameter). The lens will be facing up towards the top of the player.
Get a Q Tip and some Windex window cleaner and wet one end of a Q Tip and clean that lens throughly and dry it with the other end.
Plug the player back in and close the tray.
Unplug the player and reassemble the unit.
The next time you plug your Samsung DVD VR330 in and to play your DVD....IT WILL PLAY.
EVERYBODY HAVE A NICE DAY!!

The DVD+R disks from Staples work. However, many are bad and you have to keep trying. I had about 4 out of a 10 pack that worked. I believe this is common with DVD disks. CAUTION - You cannot use the chapter editing feature unless you get the DVD-RW disks, which I found at Best Buy. I have yet to try them, but it says in the fine print on the label that they are compatible with 2.4x; per the manual the machine requires 8x or higher. I am going to tey anyway.

I have the same problem. THe mess is that in France when I log to Samsung"s site for maintenance they loop on a wait we'll trying to find a repair facility near by your site. I had other problems with another Samsung product also. My advice never but Samsung whatever the price.

I have the same probem. Samsung is the worst electronic manufacturer in the world. No maintenance service when you log to your site and the worst quality of product in the world. DON'T BUY SAMSUN WHATEVER THE PRICE YOU WILL REGRET IT.

I had the same problem. The first time I sent it back to Samsung, they had it for 4 months. I used it for a month and it happened again. The second time they had it for a month. I finally copied all my old home videos, and now it's done it again. This time I'm throwing it out.
