Jvc receiver rx-555 display bulbs blown and diodes appear burned. How can diodes be replaced?

more than likely the whole board is shot
fuses only control current flow and break when that is exceeded
It is the voltage that does the damage that same as when you put 12 volts through a 6 volt bulb

R474 should be a 18Ohm 2 watt metal oxide resistor part no. QRG022J-180AF

and D474 is a zener diode part no. MTZ12JC see page 2-8.

If appears "OVERLOAD" before turn off, you ned change a couple of resistors of 10 ohms at 5 watts near the digital board (Optical inputs)

Have solved my problem by dismantling the receiver and removing the blown bulbs which look like fuses. Went to auto parts shop and purchased two new bulbs for one and a half Euros, fitted them and reassembled the RX-555 receiver. The display works now like a treat. Hope this helps other peoople with the same problem !!!

Well, I disassembled the unit carefully. And I've found that diode SR303 was blown. It's very easy to find near huge pulse-code converter chip. This diode is used at power supply stabilization for amplifier that has a D-class i.e. pulse-code amplifier, and for CD part. Testing of this diode confirmed that it's dead. After a couple of days received the diode from shop, is very cheap. Changing the diode recovered all the functions of the unit. Now it works fine.
Resume: The diode was burned as a result of incorrect connection to line input. The owner of the unit haven't seen that a volume level was at maximum. The connection of line input overloaded the maximum current capacity of the diode and it was blown. As for it, I've seen that in that circuit in reality must be used a stabilization chip, that is not so cheap like a diode. I think it's a constructor's error to change the chip, that is overload protected, to a simple diode.
Waiting that my info will be useful because it´s a most vulnerable part of JVC CA-FSX3. And don't overload the amplifier!

there is a bulb inside the backlight on the lcd display.it is 12 volt and alot of manufacturers run it from the +- 15 volt preamp power supply,on the plus rail.when the bulb burns out it can activate the dc speaker protect,or some other 12 or 15 volt circuit..if it is a flourescent display that is a different problem.those run on 5 12 18 and -32 volts.there is also a 6 volt ac filament voltage.you need the schematic.

could be several things, speaker wires touching,shorted output transistors, a shorted rectifier diode,bad filter caps in the power supply,those are the most common

The display is back-illuminated by small incandescent bulbs. Burnt out bulbs equal no display, although the chances of several bulbs failing at once is not high so the power supply for the display/bulb assembly is a good place from which to start fault finding.

It needs a repair shop - as a user there's nothing you can simply dig into to fix.

The fuse lamps inside the unit have burned out. If you crack the case and replace the two 150mw 12v fuse lamps, you'll have a display again (assuming the protective diodes haven't fried).

Also...If your BluRay player only has a optical output for audio you will need to swap the inputs on the JVC rx-5020v. Press the "settings" button repeatedly until "digital in" appears on the display. Now use the "adjust" up and down buttons until DVD is selected as option 2. It will look like something like: 1CD2DVD Note: this may bugger any other previous setup you have.
