Question about Whirlpool Duet GHW9150P Front Load Washer

Whirlpool Duet: "remove the heater..."

In answer to the question "Sounds like there is a marble or coin in drum", you answered, "remove the heater which is held by 1 19mm nut in the centre", which sounds like it could help me solve a similar problem (dropped a screw between the drum and tub while installing new baffles)... Problem is, I don't know exactly where is the heater: could you point me to a source of documentation?

Don't know the whirpool duet cos i'm in uk not us.
i assume your machine is a front loader
places to look for heater are
remove back plate and look for heater at bottom of rear face of tub
sometimes heater is mounted on front plate of tub in which case tilt machine backwards and see if you can see heater mounted towards bottom of front face.
most likely place however is on the rear plate of the tub

It sounds like Coins have found their way inside and tumble loud. Any way to get them out?

Yea ... but is it probably better to let them tumble until they work their way out of the drum.

You will have to take the machine apart and remove the drum to find the coins. Remove the bottom panel to get access to the screws that hold the upper front panel on. Remove it ... remove the drum. Take lots of pictures as you take it apart.

Like I said, it may be better to let them go.

Thanks for visiting today.

Sounds like coins between the basket and drum. How do I remove the coins?

If it has baffles for washing, check to see if you can lightly press the baffle to one side (press firm but don't snap it out) while rotating the drum by hand. I do this with my Whirlpool Duet and the coins eventually just slide out and into the drum where I can see them.

Whirlpool duet sport elec dryer. Gets warms then sounds like change rattling in the external drum area. During warranty said tech was a screw that kept coming loose to the drum causing the noise. 2 yrs...

Overfilling loads can cause small objects like pins, coins, and small socks to get between the tub abd Basket of your washer.

The basket is held onto the rear half of the outer tub simply by the bolt to the main pulley.
Remove the bolt, remove the pulley, and the basket shaft should slip right out of the bearings of
the rear tub.

Simply shining a light around between the basket and outer tub should confirm that there is something in there, since you have access to do this with
the front tub removed. Go ahead, remove the pulley and bolt, and if
the basket comes out, then check everything out.

If it doesn't, don't try pounding it out; stop there and go to plan B, which is a new basket
and tub assembly.

Front load washer sounds like a marble is loose

You washed something from your pockets. coins, marbles, I even removed a nail clipper before. Use a flashlight and try to look through the holes. If you can get front panel off. Put light under tub and see if you can see something that way.

Washer sounds like marbles are in it when it spinns

look for an underwire bra wire it will be sticking in the drum
if you cant find it through the drum you may be able to reach whatever is causing the noise through the heater element opening in the tub

Object blocking drum

quite easy to fix. take back panel off and remove heater - this is held by a 10mm nut in the centre. loosen nut and prize heater out and you can then see into the gap between tub and drum so you can fish marble out
