Thanks Kevinooo and ohms;the info you provided may solve my problem. I haven't been on my pc since posting my difficulty,so this is very late. I think I'll reread my instructions because the only batteries I've seen are AA's. I'm in my 70's and my children are always giving me these marvelous electronic toys. They certainly keep my mind in top condition!

Almost all experts here are saying that this is a problem with the battery connector, which is correct because it seems that your camera is not detecting your battery because the connector has problem with it that may need some cleaning so there will be a good contact between the battery and the battery connector of your camera...

Hi,

Pls check the battery connectors. They may bent out of position or shape. In some instances, there may be corrosion and therefore cleaning would be required. Often the cleaning would require a bit of scraping and wiping it with cotton buds dipped in alcohol.

In some extreme case, it may be needed to bend them towards the batteries to provide more/positive contact.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Is it not power on at all?

The battery may be dead or underpowered.

If the battery is completely drained, the camera will not power on when the Power button is pressed. If the battery is nearly drained, the camera may briefly display a Battery Empty error message and then power off, or it may power on and then quickly power off without displaying the error. In either case, charge the battery using the LI-40C battery charger bundled with the camera.

Be sure to properly align the arrow on the bundled battery with the arrow on the bundled battery charger. It is possible to force the battery into the charger so that the arrows are not aligned. This is an improper orientation, and the battery will not be charged.

Press f2 to enter the BIOS while you see the Dell start up screen. Once in there you shoudl see an option to load BIOS defaults. Load defaults. This should take care of the issue. Are you sure that you replaced it with an approved CMOS batter, You cannot use a watch battery, even though they are the same size it won't work.

Try rechargeables anyway just in case.Sometimes with age these cameras don't work well with alkalines. If that still doesn't work then I would suggest contacting your local Nikon authorized service center.

My nokia 5800 is switching on. But after i switched on, the display shows "NOKIA" until I take the battery off. my phone should ask my PIN code, but it shows only "NOKIA".

Your phone has either suffered a bad flash or you've dropped or mishandled it in such a way to damage the internal boards.
Either way, You'll need to replace it.

Has never charged, even after extended time periods - both with car charger and usb. Any tricks I'm missing. I've tried "ejecting" it but it just goes back to showing computer connection....

Sounds like the internal battery won't hold a charge and needs to be replaced. If you're "handy" you could do this yourself, but it's not for the faint of heart, and replacement batteries are available on the Internet. Here's a video that shows the procedure for disassembling and reassembling it to install the replacement: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PwAbKYOgiZg
