Plugged in the ac adapter, pluged in to the rf switch to controller and the other end to the tv using the line marked tv.,- put switch to channel 3 and the tv to channel 3. Installed game and turned controller on. the power light shows solid red and the screen on tv shows green no sound or anything else,- what am I missing??

Original-Style Super NES RF to VCR Hookup



Installation Steps:

Locate the VCR's VHF IN [ANT, CATV, 75S(ohm)] or Cable Connector.
Disconnect the existing cable wire from the VCR's VHF IN.
Connect the short, thick wire from the RF Switch (labeled ANT) to your VCR's VHF IN.
Reconnect the existing cable wire (disconnected in step 2) to the silver post labeled ANT on the RF switch.
Connect the thin wire from the RF Switch (labeled Control Deck) to the back of the Super NES (labled RF Out).
On the back of the Super NES, set the 3/4 switch so that it matches the channel of the VCR. Note on Sharp TV/VCR Combo
After the system is connected to the VCR:

Insert the Game Pak firmly into the Control Deck.
Plug the controller(s) into the front of the Control Deck. Use the far left port for player one.
Plug the AC Adapter into the back of the Control Deck. Plug the other end of the cord into a wall outlet.
Slide the Power Switch to the On position.
Turn your TV and VCR on. Set up your TV and VCR the same way you would to watch a movie on the VCR.
The game image should now be displayed on the TV screen. You are ready to play!
Note: The RF Switch does not produce stereo sound. To get stereo sound, connect your Control Deck using the Stereo Audio/Video Cable.

Installation Steps:

Locate the Audio/Video inputs on the back of the TV.
Place the yellow end of the Stereo AV cable into the Video "in" on the back of the TV. Connect the red end of the cable to Audio "in" Right. Connect the white end of the cable to the Audio "in" Left. Use a slight twisting motion when inserting each cable and ensure the cables are firmly pressed into the input.
Note: If you have a mono television with only one Audio input, click here for a diagram of how the hook-up will look. The Y-adapter pictured is optional; you can also simply leave the white cable disconnected instead.

Connect the rectangular (gray) plug of the Stereo AV cable into the "multi out" connector on the back of the Control Deck.
After the system is connected to the TV:

Insert the Game Pak firmly into the Control Deck.
Plug the Controller(s) into the front of the system. Use the far left port for player one.
Plug the AC Adapter into the back of the system . Plug the other end into a wall outlet.
Slide the Power Switch on (toward Game Pak).
Turn on the TV and locate the input select. It is often called: input select, AUX (auxiliary), Line, Line In, Input, Source, Select, In, or EXT (external). Switch the input select to show the Nintendo game.
The game image should now be displayed on the screen. You are ready to play!

NES to TV Hookup

I'll just tell you how to set it up with an RF cable.

1: Plug the power adapter in an outlet and plug the other side in the designated spot where it fits. Simple.

2: On the back of the SNES, there should be a switch that says channel 3 or 4. Whatever one the switch is at, it will be the channel to play it at.

3: From where it says "NES CONTROL DECK" on the RF switch, plug that into the SNES.

4: From where it says "TV" on the RF switch, screw it into the supplied ports on the TV. Note that newer TV's don't have this port.

You probably don't need to bother with the antenna port.

Check on the back of the nintendo system if it is on same channel as tv, little switch is on the back next to the power cord.

example..tv channel 3 and nintendo system channel 3

If that doesn't work your cable is not properly connected, You can't use both rf switch and av cable. It one or the other. rf connect in the back and to coax cable. Av cable connect on the right side of the system and front input on tv..
