LATELY MY UPRIGHT WINDTUNNEL HAS BEEN CUTTING OFF. AT FIRST IT WOULD CUT OFF, I WOULD TURN OFF THE SWITCH WAIT FOR A FEW MINUTES TURN IT BACK ON AND IT WOULD WORK UNTIL I WAS DONE,NOW IT RUNS FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES AND CUTS OFF AGAIN CAN YOU HELP?
The on/off switch does not work. I don't hear the 'click' any more when I depress the switch. I removed the top of the vacuum but cannot determine how to replace the switch.

Your Hoover is stopping because it is overheating. This is a sure sign that there is a blockage somewhere. Find the blockage and clear it, and that should solve the problem.
The motor has a protective overload cutout device to stop it from over heating - this can be caused by a blockage of some sort in the hose or brushroll compartment or blocked filters.
After checking the above and it still cuts out, take it back under gurantee
Its overheating, so the TOC (thermal overload cutout device) is cutting the power to the motor to protect it.
Thats why it works when it has cooled down.
Check for blockages and make sure the filters are clean, if it still happens take to an approved engineer to check the TOC
Hi,
Sounds like your machine has a blockage in the vacuum system, and is cutting out from overheating. If you no longer have a manual, which will tell you about clearing blockages, you can download from the Hoover website.
Good luck!
the automatic cut out switch on the motor needs replacing when the motor gets hot this switch comes in and stops the motor from overheating when the motor cools down the cleaner will work again and cut out again when the motor gets hot if it is not replaced it will eventually burn the motor out after the switch has been replaced both the filter and cyclone need to be cleaned on a regular basis or the same will happen again
Ok What is probably causing the problem is an internal error inside the vacuum. What I recomend you to do is take it back where you bought it and tell them what ever is wrong with it.

Hope it works! Tell me if you have any questions later on!
My Hoover S3639 on/off switch stopped working. I don't hear the 'click' any more. I removed the top of the vacuum but can't determine how to replace the switch.
