nslo, tell him to try replacing the power supply first, power supplys burn up ALL the time, as long as the plug fits and it has a rating of equal or greater amperage, same voltage, equal to or greater watts then it will work. Those variable voltage multi plug ones they sell at k-mart work but I've never had one that lasted long.

what the above guest said is exactly what you need to do. Make sure of course there is nothing on your FAT(previously exported songs/masters) because they will be erased. just go to menu->disk->fat reform, then press enter

This is an error in Tascam's code that usually means 'out of disk space'. Try using 'delete unused' to free up some space first within the song you're on and after that you might consider backing up some songs to your PC and then deleting them from the DP-01 to free up more disk space.

ok first i just wanna prepare ya on how bad your gonna kick yourself on this one, i have a used one and dont really use honestly i hate it...but i decided to mess around with it and decide to get sumthing decent and bring it to the comp for the first time...and i seen i had the same issue.. and saw that alot of people did to and they went on and on with no solution...so i gave myself 5mins to think and remember....and here ya go you ready... after you save all your songs correctly to get them ready for export...step 1.plug it into your usb port...step 2. ignore the fact that its not being noticed by windows...step 3. go to menu on ur tascam scroll down to disk hit yes/enter.step 4..now ur in the disk menu and right there the third choice..usb open/close hit enter and there ya go you will be prompt to open the usb port and everything is done your ready to go...when ur done u close the port...basicly an on and off switch for the usb port...i hope it helps and its not too late...good luck..oh it should be in the manual under usb...thats how i remembered it cause i remember reading it.
