Unprotect memory card

posted by Forsaken08 on Jul 13, 2008

I cannot put the memory card into unprotected mode again.
How can I put it back, because I cannot take shots or even edit some settings if the card is protected. Please answer.
my camera just stooped recording shots in any mode... how do i fix this? could it be the memory 1.0 Gig Kingston memory chip? A virus? A setting, I think i checked them all.

Hi,

To set the memory card in unprotected mode, you have to do the following.

On the side of the SD chip, there is a little switch. Shift the switch away from "lock", then insert the card back into the camera.
This unprotects the card. You should now be able to take pictures and videos.

If this does not solve the problem, then it is very likely that the SD card is faulty. I would recommend using Panasonic, Lexar or Sandisk memory cards.
