I have the same notebook and I have changed the hard drive on mine as well.It is quite simple really, you will find on the side of the A drive it sits just above it,to remove it there is one screw on the underside if you follow it in line and guess the depth of the A drive you will see it all by itself.
Just unscrew it and slide out the drive. The hard drive is a slim line compartment that sits on top of the A drive.
Just pull it out as it just slots in/out.
Just slot ou new hard drive in screw up the single screw and presto you should have a new hard drive ready to go.
Hope this helps,I have ram probs not sure where to slot the 256MB RAM into, maybe you could help me.
The NEC Versa m500e has 2 memory slots. Each slot can hold DDR PC2700 with a maximum of 512MB per slot.
I'm not sure where the memory is located on the Versa, but normally in the middle on the bottom of the laptop there is a memory slot. on some units the memory is located under the keyboard, so you have to remove
this first to change the memory.
