I am trying to run Pro Tools and I bought this laptop specifically to do just that.  I have tried to install everything but I think I still need to disable the bios memory such as caching or shadowing and enable the bus mastering.

    Can someone please help?

I have the same problem - is there any way to save info from the hard drive? My 13yo has been writing a story (home schooling) for the past 7 months, and forgot to backup. Is there any way of getting his story off before wiping the hard drive?

Did Windows come installed on the computer, or did you install it yourself?

As with any blue screen, this is an operating system error in which a driver or program has overstepped it's boundries by writing into an unauthorized section of the memroy, therefore causing the memory dump. You will need to run a system repiar or reload with your recovery disc or operating system disc in order to cure the problem. Start with the repair, if the rogue still persists, then you will need to wipe the hard drive and reload the operating system.

I have a Dell XPS M1530 laptop and a few days ago I replaced the cmos battery and it worked; now it won´t but up. it started shutting down, now fan runs for 2 seconds lights come up but no display and...

Is it charging? If it isn't then try a different charger but reopen it and clean it with a soft brush and try again otherwise it looks like you've a PSU fault there and you have either disconnected or caused static damage to the system.

Windows program shut down Laptop problem model-no-XPS M1530

it sounds like the hard drive might be failing or it might be a software problem. Try starting in safe mode and running a full system scan to see if it's sometihngi n the software. If not go to the Bio's screen and run drive self test. you do this in bio's by scrolling with your arrow till you get to a tools menu and then it will say hard drive self test. Your computer then will do 3 tests to determine if you have a harddrive problem. If you do then you will have to have the hard drive replaced. If you have a warranty on the computer call them as they will cover this issue.

Dell XPS M1530 trouble shutting down

Try this, just to see if the shutdown actually works.

Open a command prompt and enter the following:

shutdown -s -t 05

-s is to shutdown, -t 05 is a 5 second countdown.  Let me know if it actually shuts down.
