Yes, it also happen when I copy and sometimes the whole paper becomes black. We clean the corona wire near the drum. After cleaning, the copy is okay but after only 5-10 copies especially on multiple copy the one-inch black or the whole paper is black returns.

If you are seeing vertical streaks/black lines your primary corona wire is dirty and or the fax scanner may be dirty. 1)To clean the corona wire you take the drum unit and toner cartridge and place it on disposable paper to avoid spilling. 2) Clean the primary corona wire inside the drum unit by sliding the blue tab from right to left several times. 3) Return the blue tab and snap it into the home position. 4) Reinstall the drum unit and toner cartridge. 5) Close the front cover. Caution: if you do not return the blue tab to the home position it may repeat the black lines.
for the first solution. try to clean the corona wire or primary. which position is near from photosensitive drum. and while see the wire may be any loose. if you have clean it then the problem doesn't change,. let me know
Sometimes you may see vertical streaks/black lines on the faxes you receive. Either your FAX/MFC's primary corona wire for printing may be dirty, or the sending party's fax scanner may be dirty. Clean your primary corona wire (see pages 13-18), or ask the sender to make a copy to see if the problem is with the sending machine. Cleaning the Drum Unit We recommend you place the drum unit on a drop cloth or large piece of disposable paper to avoid spilling and scattering toner. 1 Carefully turn the drum unit upside down. 2 Clean the primary corona wire inside the drum unit by gently sliding the tab from right to left several times. 3 Return the tab to the Home position ( ) before reinstalling the drum unit.
A. The drum is not
charger corona wire is probably broken or not making good electrical
charger corona wire may be part of the toner cartridge. Try
and reinstalling the toner cartridge. If that doesn’t work, try
another toner cartridge.
the charge corona assy. is just the silver assembly that the corona wire is inside of. to help verify where your problem is, lift up your top lid and make a "sky" shot. watch your lamp under glass, and when lamp gets about 5-7" from left, quickly open front door. now, open the copier to inspect the bottom side of your drum. if you see a good coating of toner on drum, but not on paper, the problem is in the corona assembly thats on the bottom, middle of copier directly under your drum. if no toner on drum, then its very possible its the charge corona assy. on top of your drum.
Yes, that could give you dark copies on one side of the copies... I use a glass cleaner to clean of the primary charge roller or grid. wipe them off with out getting any thing on the OPC drum it self. Did you clean the optics already?
I beleive it is compasating for the drum, you can change the corona wires( it is not difficult, but there is a certain skill and dexterity to it) you can find the wires at Radio shack or Ace, I beleive.
I'm not sure of which gear you are refering to, please clarify. TNX
The dark copies could be that you need to clean your optics aswell, they are under the copy board glass. If the mirrors are dusty you will get alot of back groud in your copis and poor C.Q. I would just use a dry cloth to wipe the mirros off, should be three. Also, I would use a cloth with a little alchol on it to clean the lamp.. Almost forgot turn the copier OFF first. The small gear could be that there is another problem with the developing unit.... There may be a worn out bearing or seal... It should last longer.. Is this the second time it will need replacing? If so you may have to look alittle deeper
