When you start the dryer does it sound as if it is running but it does not tumble? Or does it make a humming noise?

If it sounds like it's running I'd check the belt first,
Humming noise and burning smell Dan indicate a bad motor or something stuck in blower wheel.

My hotpoint TDC30 dryer is cutting out after 3 mins ,the drum is warm inside and wont restart till its cold inside the drum

Hi joanne balla...
Sounds like the cyclic thermostat, thermostat, fuse (differnet names for the same part) faulty...replace it.
You will have to remove the back from the machine, look for the air tube going to the vent of your dryer and located on it will be the thermostat/s.
To test it, remove the wires fromthe two terminals and tape them together, then try running your dryer again and if it runs and heats ok then replace the cyclic thermostat/fuse.
Go to the following webpage to see the thermostat

I have a hotpoint tumble dryer model TDC30 and it is not drying the cloths. I have looked at the heating element which was broken so I replaced it. I have buzzed out the thermostats which seem to be fine....

If you are sure that the thermostats are both ok and the element has been replaced then the only other thing it can be is either a blockage or the timer that is at fault.

Hope this helps,

Hotpoint aquarius condenser dryer TDC30

I would dry it just to be on the safe side, even though it doesn't say so. It can't hurt. The front t'stat should be under the top at or near the drum.

TDC 30 tumble dryer

To test the heating element you need to access it by taking apart the back panel, and test it for continuity using a multimeter.

There are also a couple of fuses/circuit breakers that you should test.

Entering the model number here you get the exploded view, and replacement parts.

Cutting out after a few minutes

Is the water supply (for supplying cooling water to the condenser) switched on? If not, there's no real mechanism for removing heat from the machine, and it might reasonably be expected to shut itself down. Once you've got water going to the inlet hose, you might check that the solenoid valve which shuts the water off when the machine is turned off hasn't failed, and that the jet through which the water squirts into the condenser (if that's separate in this model) isn't blocked. A.
