I record in HDD mode and the machine is definitely recording and shows in the menu but it shows as a black screen. This seems strange as when I make a normal recording I have no problem. Another strange thing is that when I am setting the details for the recording, in the date it shows the wrong day of the week,that is the day after the day of the month. Also I felt it was strange that it doesn't indicate the station that I have set it on but maybe that is as it should be! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Brian.

first of all make sure the time and date is set correctly on your recorder (options or set-up usually) second make sure an aerial input is going to your recorder (not just to your tv (the recorder is in the loop with aerial lead to it then from it to tv)) third make sure the on-board tuners are tuned to the correct tv channels (recorder is just a tv without a screen and has its own channels that need to be tuned in)
