I hav a Sony CDX-GT65OUI that beeps when the car shuts down. I have my IPOD connected to the stereo - made sure the ipod was shut down the USB cable removed from the stereo but it still beeps. Do you...

It beeps because it is an "alarm" that sounds because you are not supposed to leave the faceplate in the car when you get out. I read this in the manual

Sony cdx-gt100 cd player radio stations are not storing,i have stored them all but as soon as you turn the ignition key,the stereo has lost all stored stations.thanks for any help

You will need to check the yellow wire of the stereo. This wire must have +12 volts even with the key off. Be sure it has a good connection.

Hooking up a sony cd changer cdx-434rf I am not

hey, i just found one of these in my garage and im trying to connect mine too.. I found out what the wires do...

black(ground) - any metal part of the car
red (remote) - to a wire that gives 12v+ when ignition is on.
Yello (power) - 12v+ source, just connect this wire straight from + on the battery.
Read this manual for more info....

CDX-RA700 will not get power from my Honda Civic

Automobiles use Direct Current "DC" and is very dependant on a good ground. The black wire from your stereo should be the ground and needs to be attached to the chassis "metal part of the car". You can use an ohm meter to check for grounds by placing one lead on your door hinge (unpainted) and the other to where you are connecting your ground from the stereo. Be sure that this wire does not have voltage on it with the key off, on acc, or in the on position or you could blow a fuse or damage your equipment. Besides that make sure that you have 12v constant to the (usually red wire) and switched (voltage only with the key on) to (usually the yellow wire). Hope that helps. It's mostly about the ground.

Car stereo problem

Some units also have an ignition wire that must be hot for the unit to turn on. Other than that, I can't think of anything else other than a bad unit.

Hope that helps...
