Apple had a problem with their servers during the iPhone 3G launch, they under estimated the number of people that will try to log into the iTunes server at once, as a result the server fall down.

If this is the error you get, when connecting to the iPhone 3G to iTunes server you can relax, your iPhone 3G is 100% OK.

I have iphone 3g version 4.1 i wont to unlock it

You can try to use "tinyUmbrella" to see if cydia has you ssh on file..
tinyumbrella website

once you start the software you click the button save my ssh..

once it's done processing you can click on start tss server

This tss server will allow you to bypass itunes server which restricts downgrading firmware...

Once Tss server is running you can start itunes

once itunes detects your iphone shift + click on restore

Select the iphone 3g 4.0.1 firmware (goto http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/ to download this)

Once it restores fully at the end it will give itunes error '1015'

dont worry..

Install Libusb if you dont have it..(Click here)
after installing libusb just use this program.. ih8snow
Click on "Fix recovery mode loop"

Click on yes to "do you have libusb installed??"

Select iphone 3g from the list

your iphone will reboot..

now you can first activate it ..

then you can use safari to goto Jailbreakme.com
slide the slider at the bottom...

it will download cydia

when cydia is installed you have to add "repo666.ultrasn0w.com" as a source
Its a zero "0" in the sn0w not "o"...

Search google how to add new sources.. to cydia..

Once you are done installing the application inside the repo666.ultrasn0w.com source your phone will be finally unlocked..

Of course easier way out would be to pay someone who knows how to do this..

regards

Was your iphone unlocked? If so, the software update has broken your unlock. Phones that have recently been updated in iTunes to firmware 3.1.3 cannot be re-unlocked, so they can only be used with AT&T SIM cards at this time. Also, without an AT&T SIM iTunes will not connect with the phone again. You need to wait for the unlock for 3.1.3, you can read more at:

Safari can't open because server has stopped working. I have called my server, but the want to connect me to outside support which cost $100.00. Since I bought my iPhone at their service center I didn't...

on your phone go to settings>general>reset>reset network settings.....if that doesnt work contact your service provider not apple because your service provider will have the network settings not apple...tech support for at&t is 866-700-2105

IPhone 3G Error 0xE8000001

Where did you purchase your phone? however, you first need to update itunes to 8.0.2, that might solve your problem. Unless you have an unlocked phone then restoring your phone is useless because when you restore an iphone with itunes in the US without an att sim card it will actually lock the phone, but I do not think that is your issue. the two things you are seeing the connect to itunes and the emergency call system means that your phone is not properly activated. which is done by connecting it to itunes.

IPhone 3G Error 0xE8000001

I just had this problem and it turned out to be... It didn't like my iPod cable. Switched to the iPhone cable and it worked.
Seems to be an iPhone 2.0 prob, or 3g prob, since I was using the iPod cable to sync my old iPhone just fine.
