Have you tried plugging in an external video source thru the back of the laptop??

make sure the laptop is turned off then plug in an external monitor then turn the laptop on and see if anything comes up.

if it does, then your LCD inverter or backlight has gone out on the lcd screen of the laptop, might have to be replaced.

If nothign comes up then either your adapter or Mother board is bad or has failed, try another adapter if you suspect the adapter otherwise the motherboard has fail and need to be replaced.

Acer laptop display goes off after some second

Try booting into safe mode. Chances are that you have set the screen resolution and refresh rate to some value that the LCD cannot handle. That is why it works until Windows takes over. Once you are in Safe Mode you can get things under control.

Patchy on screen and can't read

Video issues like you describe can only be two things in hardware either a Video card, or display. Patchy display is typically a bad display that has been dropped or damaged. On the software side a new driver or update can cause image problems but typically it will be no display vs. patchy display.

How do i make the screen smaller

Make the resolution higher under the Display. Right Click on any open area on your desktop and select Properties. When the Display Properties window opens select the Settings tab. Change the resolution. The higher the resolution, the smaller the icons and the more things will appear on the screen.

You can also get to the display by clicking Start/Control Panel and look for Display or Appearance and Personalization. When the Display Properties window opens select the Settings tab. Change the resolution. The higher the resolution, the smaller the icons and the more things will appear on the screen.

I have tried to fix my mini notebook but my screen is just blank,i cant even see the start menu..what can i do?

Hi, if you cannot see a display on your monitor, there are a few things you can do. The easiest and first thing you should do, is plug an external monitor into the VGA port on your netbook. That way, you will know if your computer is still working. Also, make sure the power lights are on when you turn the computer on. Next, you can try this. Find the function button that corresponds with one of the F# keys i.e. F4 or F8 that controls the LCD display. It will either say CRT/LCD or will have a picture of two monitors on it, something like that. Then, press the Function key (Fn) and that corresponding key at the same time and see if the display comes back. Press it once and wait a minute, if nothing happens press it again and do the same thing. Do it a few times. You may also have to do that when you plug in your external monitor as well to get a display on it. What that does is tell the computer to display the image on an external monitor.

Hi,

Thank you for choosing FixYa. I think it would be better if you isolate the problem if its the Display on the machine that's having a problem. Try to use an External Display use it for a while turn on and off the machine if its giving display using your External Display or its doing same thing. If its doing same thing it means there is a problem with the Motherboard, Memory or Video Display.

Hope I've helped you somehow.

Hi ,
The best possible thing which you can do right now is to check few more things ....As the problem doesnt have much to do on.

Try this::
1>Try to Notebook adapter to a different power outlet.
2.>If still doesnt work you can try to connect an external display us.
(if the external display doesnt work might be other issue but if the display works you have take it to the shop where they can work on this.

Hope This will work.
God bless you.

System is on but there is no display

Hi,

No display can cause by many thing. RAM, LCD, motherboard or any thing connected to motherboard. So, if you have knowledge in this field, you can : - try to take out and put the RAM back to the slot OR you can try with other RAM. If this solve the problem, your RAM problem
Second, you can try plug in VGA cable (connected to external LCD monitor) to the VGA port on the notebook. This step is to check either your notebook can enter windows or not. If the display come out at LCD monitor, means your LCD @ LCD cable problem.
If those thing cannot solve the problem, means either your motherboard or VGA card (for notebook that come with VGA card) problem.
Solution : Send it to service center @ any computer shop

I have no display o9n screen or monitor

It could be one of two things. First thing your display is faulty and will ahve to be replaced or the second thing is your system board is faulty. To know if its your system board use an external monitor via the vga port on your laptop if you can see and use your computer using the external monitor then just your screen is faulty if not then its your system board

It keeps saying internet explorer cannot display web page but only on certain things i click on

I think that the right question to ask would be what things make it display the error page? This issue has occurred on browsers like firefox and internet explorer in the past when people visit sites that login options on the front page.
