Yahoo messenger has stop working on my pc

my advice is to remove that yahoo adn download it again
adn if it doesnt sign in when you do download it follow these steps because it worked with me
Click the "Messenger" menu and select "Connection Preferences."
Select "Firewall with no proxies."
Click "Apply." You should see a message asking you to sign in again.
Click "OK."
Enter your Yahoo! ID and password, then click "Sign In."
OR,
- Go to messenger right click and select Property
- Under Compatibility Tab
- In Privilege Level check Run This Program as Administrator and in compatibility section choose XP SP2
- Thats it now it should run Fine!

OR,
try using pidgin. its an open source messenger that you can use to run yahoo, aim, msn, icq, and more. you can have one consolidated list of contacts. comes standard with most linux distributions, and you can download it for windows.

I cannot sing in to yahoo messenger

there may be several problems with your messenger

before anything chek that you are connecting to internet and your username and password are correct .
then:
1) check your proxy setting in internet explorer
(in IE menu go to tools/internet option/connections) then if you are dial up , double click on your account and desable proxy. if you use adsl you must click on "Lan setting" and desable proxy

2) in yahoo messenger's menu go to "connection perference" and "connect directly to the internet" must be cheked

3) check that your anti virus is allowing to your messenger (usually it's done automatically) ;)

4) if the problem still persists , reinstall yahoo messenger

I cant sign into yahoo messenger

first, make sure your entering the right information in the username and password boxes.
I know it sounds dumb, but it had to be said.
if it continues to have problems, go into your yahoo email and try signing in from the email program
there is a link up near your login name.
if you get into your email, theoretically you should be able to sign into chat.
I would change your password for messenger and try logging in again.
is it possible someone was trying to get into your messenger and saved a wrong password,
go to login screen on messenger and erase your password and type in your correct password.
and login.
if you still continue to have problems, either update messenger or reinstall the messenger program and see if that works for you.
Good Luck

Error81003005

See below
Hope this helps
Here's how I solve it:
1. Open your Internet Explorer
2. Go to Tools > Internet Options then click the Connections tab
3.Click the LAN Settings button and a new dialog box will open
4. At the new dialog box, look for the Proxy server checkbox, if this is checked, uncheck it.
5. Then your done, click OK button for the dialog boxes.
6. Try logging in to your Yahoo Messenger account.
My solution is good only if you have set your proxy server previously in your Internet Explorer. I've noticed this behaviour since in our school, I need to set the proxy server to access the internet. But at home, I don't need to. So when I am at home, this is the normal situation I encounter when I forget to unset back the proxy settings.
On the other hand, the other way around should work. What I mean here is, if you connect to a network that has a proxy server, you need to setup the proxy settings in order for you to use their internet services. Thus, access to yahoo could be established.
[Solution #2]
One area to look also if the proxy is not the one causing the problem, you can check if you have your DNS Server address(es) set, which - in case you have changed your network, can't be accessible to the new network. Thus, it can cause this error.
So, you may unset the DNS Servers (Go to Network Properties >> General Tab >> TCP/IP Properties >> General Tab > Obtain DNS Server address automatically) and try logging in your YM.
[Solution #3]
If the above solutions does not go well, this last one might be the savior. Instead of constantly banging your heads with those re-logins and reconfigurations, you can track back your YM version and replace it with an old version instead. I did this and it works for me well. I had before a version 9 Yahoo Messenger and when I replace it with a version 8, the problem was solved. This should be your last resort if the previous won't work. Remember also to be patient. If it bugs you, don't bug down... bug up!

I cannot get logged into yahoo instant messenger. When and if I get logged in, I'm cut off at 11 p.m. every night. I downloaded the 9 but still doesn't help. thanks, lavina

You may want to contact your Internet Service Provider and ask them if they block out Yahoo Messenger service. Also an option under Connection Preferences before you sign in to your Messenger, where you can set it to Firewall with No Proxies. You select what type of internet you have below and hit apply. This will however disable some features such as file sharing, and possible webcams.

Windows live messenger sign in error code 81000306

That means Windows Live Messenger is unable to contact the authentication server.

Open up Live Messenger and go to Tools and go to Options. Under Connection Settings, choose Advanced Settings. Make sure there are nothing in the proxy fields. Make sure the SOCKS area has nothing in it and click okay until you get back to the Messenger window and try to sign in.

If that doesn't work and you are running Windows Vista, click start, type: cmd, right-click cmd.exe when it appears under Applications, click Run As Administrator, type the following: "netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled", rress enter, restart your computer”

Hope this helps!

Error code 80072ee7

This error occurs when you are not connected to the internet, check your internet connection and make sure it is working properly.
The most likely cause for this problem is that your firewall does not allow Messenger to access the internet. This happens often if you install a new version of Messenger. Make sure Messenger is allowed access in your firewall rules. See our article on using Messenger through a firewall application.
This error might also occur if a proxy server is enabled in Messenger or Internet Explorer while you do not use one. To remove the proxy settings, click the "Tools" menu and then "Options..." at your Messenger main window. Then in the options screen click "Connection" in the list to the left. Next, click the "Advanced Settings..." button. You can try and uncheck all checkboxes in this screen except the one labeled "TCP" to let Messenger connect through a direct connection. If that does not work you can restore the settings again by checking the boxes you unchecked before.

Error code 80048820

MSN Message error 80048820, unable to signin

Problems:
- While you try to Sign in MSN Messenger you getting an error message with the no. 80048820
- Unable to Sing in

Probably reasons-
- Your system time/date incorrect
- Internet Proxy setting incorrect
- softpub.dll disable/missing
- Firewall does not allow to access, etc.

Solution-

Step#1

- Remove Internet Explorer proxy server settings and check the 'Automatically detect settings'.
- Launch Internet Explorer, click "Tools" and then click Internet Options. From the Internet Options dialog box, go to the Connections tab. Click LAN Setting. Uncheck the Use a proxy server for your LAN checkbox. Finally tick/check: 'Automatically detect settings'.

Step#2
- Correct the computer system's Time/Day as current (if required).

Step#3
- Click Start (Button), and then click Run, type regsvr32 softpub.dll click ok.

Step#4
- Turn off the firewall. Check firewall settings such as Norton: "Block access to secure sites". If this cures the problem, make sure that Microsoft's MSN Messenger is allowed full access through your firewall.
