Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console

1 Answer

My picture started flickering the other night while playing a game. Then I went to turn it on today and I can't get a picture, there is still sound however. Thinking maybe a video card problem or something to do with the output. Any help would be great. Cheers

Its sounds like a video cord problem, if you are hooked up by the yellow red and white cords to your TV, adjust them until the picture returns, its a VERY common problem on EVERY TV and console since the SNES. Could also be the plug on the back of the PS3 if you just play with the cords your problem should resolve.

I had tried fiddling with the AV cords, as in red white and yellow, but the thing that led me to think otherwise is that I then connected it up with a HDMI cable and the same thing happened, picture, but no sound. :( Thanks for your help though!

My TV has a green / purple tint on the corners. Help?

It might be due to picture tube problem... As its too old, the picture tube might be weak and hence you might get colors at the edges.. Better replace the picture tube with a new one to solve this problem

NEC NLT-26HD1 The picture flickers on and off when turning on (cold nights especially) but the sound is ok. And when using tv information/guide and playing games or DVD's.

the main control module has a minor problem and needs to be replaced. eventually you will notice other things start to happen like flashing or colors changing.. take it to a good repair shop...

Sounds like an issue with the graphics card in the system. Call up Xbox 360 Support, or return it for a new one.

Picture not coming on

sounds like if its flat screen the lcd went out. The flickering was the screen having to reset itself. Try un plugging it for 40 min. and trying it again. could possibly re-set it again but 90% chance the Lcd is out. if its not lcd and its rear projection the the projector has died.

Can be replaced for about 1/2the price of a new one today.

Good luck
