How to open the case safely (without damaging it)?

I have the Buffalo Ministation 120GB portable HDD, and I also have a 320GB notebook HDD lying around...
I was wondering how can I open the Ministation's case safely so that I can swap the 120GB HDD with the 320GB HDD?
I already tried removing the screws on the case, but it still wont open.. If I just pry it open will I damage the case? or is it meant to be pried open?

    hello,
i am trying to open my ministation case and have the same problem.
did you find a way to get the case open?
i think something must slide after the screws are removed, but it doesn't seem to budge.
if you have any help please email me
    [email protected]
    thank you

Remove all screws from the enclosure, and then slide a then metal (non magnetic) slide to pop the clips off of the sides of the enclosure, lengthwise. You can do it without breaking the plastic

I can't Open my External Hard Disk Buffalo HD-PXT320U2/W-AP .. How can i solve this problem .. ?? The Interface view I/O Error Device .. Thamls for yOur hElp ..

I/O Error Device means that the pc cannot communicate with your external HDD - either the USB cable is broken (replace it) or its control board has failed. If it's the latter then the Buffalo is dead, get a new one.

The buffalo 320GB cannot be detected in my laptop but detected on my friends laptop. How is it so?

It is quiet possible there is not enough power being supplied to the usb port on your laptop. Usually, if this is the case, when the hdd is plugged in you hear an ongoing beeping (something not).
Try using a double usb cable as pictured to get the extra required power to the drive.

Cannot access data in my buffalo ministation orange light showing, after it fell down

Try accessing it in another USB port or computer. If still not, it may unfortunately be damaged. You may be able to get it replaced under warranty.

Can't see my buffalo usb ministation under my computer

right click on my computer click manage, then in the new screen click on disk management, can you see the device there? if so right click on it and click delete partition, then after right click and make a partition and format it with a quick format, this should then show it in mycomputer ,this will delete all data on the hard drive!
