Hp computer won't startup right

Everytime i turn my computer on, the screen is black and the "documents" folder pops up. what is wrong or what do i do to fix it? thanks guys.

Compaq Presario pops up a system boot menu everytime at startup.


This comes up mostly when it requires a BIOS save. Try that. If that does not help, sometimes setting the default settings and saving will help.

Sharing Your Own Computer's Stuff with the Network


To share a file or folder with your fellow computer users, move the file into your Shared Documents folder, which lives in your My Computer window. (You must move or copy a file into the Shared Documents folder; shortcuts don't always work.)

After you place your file or folder into your Shared Documents folder, it appears in the Shared Documents folder of everybody else using your computer.

Administrators can share folders without having to move them into the Shared Documents folder. The trick is to follow these steps:

1. Right-click on a folder you'd like to share and choose Sharing and Security from the pop-up menu.

Open My Computer and right-click on the folder you'd like to share. When the menu appears, select Sharing and Security. A window appears, showing the Properties for that folder. It opens to the Sharing tab.

Right-click on a folder and choose Sharing and Security to share the folder on the network.

2. Click the box marked Share This Folder on the Network.

A check mark in that box lets everybody peek at, grab, steal, change, or delete any of the files in that folder. To let visitors look inside the files but not change them, remove the check mark from the box marked Allow Network Users to Change My Files.

3. Click OK.

Now that particular folder and all its contents are available for everybody on the network to share.

Sharing a lot of folders isn't a good idea because it gives network visitors too much control over your computer. Even if you trust people, they might accidentally mess something up. To be safe, only share files by placing them in the Shared Document folder.

Inside Shared Documents live two more folders, Shared Music and Shared Pictures. Those two folders are also available to any user. So, if you want to share documents with any user of your computer, store them in the Shared Documents folder. When you make MP3s from your CDs, store them in the Shared Music folder, too, so that everybody can enjoy them.

How can i log in my Delloptiplex 760 computer,when its auto logging off


If running XP

A log-on loop on your Windows XP computer is a difficult situation where the computer never completes its boot cycle, restarting intermittently ad nauseam.


This issue indicates a major problem with the boot functionality of your XP system.

Restore the computer to working order by utilizing the repair and restoration utility on your XP system disk.

Insert the XP disk into the computer.


Restart the computer.

Press any key when prompted to boot from the disk.

Press "Enter" at the first screen and "F8" at the license terms.


Highlight the drive containing XP and press "R," repairing the operating system boot files and removing the log-on loop.

Windows XP sometimes has a glitch when you are logging in to your user account in order to boot the operating system.

The glitch logs you in and then logs you off the account.


This problem is usually caused by one of the programs that load during the computer's start-up.

Fixing this issue is a matter of ensuring that whatever program is causing the problem doesn't start up as soon as you start your computer.

Power on the computer and allow it to get to the user logon page normally.

There is no need to start up the computer in "safe mode."


Click the user who is having the issue and type in the user's password if one is set up.

Select all the files inside the "Startup" folder by dragging a box over them.


Right-click anywhere on the selected files.


Select "Delete" to delete those files.

All this does is make it so that these programs no longer start as your computer is starting so that any error in the running of the programs doesn't interfere with logging in to your account.

ERROR CONSOLE POP UP ON COMPUTER


You've got a virus or some type of infection.

Go to www.google.com and in the search box type:"Download cnet Malwarebytes" (without the quotes). Download andinstall malwarebytes from the sites download.cnet/malwarebytes. When thesite opens up click on the Green Download button on the left. Do notclick the Red Download button, that's junk. When it finishes installing the GuiInterface will open up with an offer to Accept a Trial Version orDecline. CLICK DECLINE you want the totally free version. Run aQUICK SCAN. As it scans, if it finds infections the number will be inred. When it finishes scanning, click SHOW RESULTS. A notepad textdocument will open up showing you the results. You can close the textdocument and go back to the Gui Interface where you will click REMOVE SELECTEDRESULTS. The objects will already be selected for you. When itfinishes removing the objects click ok and it will sometimes reboot yourmachine.

If the system won't let you do the things above then try doing them in the SAFE MODE WITH NETWORKING mode. Turn your computer off, then hit the power button to turn it back on and immediately start hitting the F8 key until you see Safe Mode option. Scroll down and select the SAFE MODE WITH NETWORKING option. This option will most likely keep the virus on lock down and and give you internet capability. Safe Mode will look different than what you are used to seeing. The screen will be darker and the icons will be bigger, that's normal.

How do you get rid of the we care message


I think you are referring to HP's We Care utility program. First thing to check is for any programs in the Startup folder. Click on the START button, then All Programs, then click on the Startup folder. If one of HP's programs are in this folder, delete it (you are only removing it from the startup, not from the computer). If no program appears in the Startup folder, do the following:

  1. Click START
  2. type msconfig in the search programs and files box
  3. click on Startup tab
  4. remove checkmark from the HP utility (We Care)
  5. click Apply
  6. Reboot
This process will prevent the HP program from opening each time you reboot.

Everytime i open my computer the document folder was always pop up and had a malware :(


I would download and run the registry utility from iobit.com use the malware remove tool.
It is freeware and works then run CHKDSK/F.

Reset my computer


Recovering during startup Use the following steps to perform a recovery from the hard drive :
  1. Backup files from the My Documents folder and from other folders you may have created.
  2. Disconnect all connected devices (such as the Personal Media Drive, USB drives, printer, and fax), remove media from drives, and remove any recently added internal hardware. Do not disconnect the monitor, keyboard, mouse, and power cord.
  3. Turn on the computer.
  4. Just after the first screen appears (the logo screen), press the F10 key repeatedly until a recovery menu appears.
  5. Select one of the following procedures, depending on which recovery type you want to perform:
    • To perform a standard system recovery, click Next , and then click Yes .
    • To perform a destructive recovery, click Advanced , (select Destructive Recovery ) and then click Next . CAUTION: A destructive recovery will format the hard drive. This will delete all the information on the hard drive and reinstall Windows XP and the original software that came with the computer .
  6. Read and respond to each window and screen that appears.
  7. After the System Recovery is complete, the computer restarts and continues into Windows setup. Complete the setup screens and wait until the computer finishes the setup. NOTE: It may take a long time to complete Windows setup. This time varies and may take over several hours, depending on the amount of files that were stored in the user account folders (for example, My Documents and the Desktop).
  8. Before using your computer, update and protect your computer. For more information, refer to Things To Do After Performing a System Recovery in Windows XP .
  9. Reinstall applications that you added after purchasing the PC, and any files you need from backup.

Logging in


Restart your computer. Upon seeing the boot screen press F8 sometimes more than once. You will get an option window of which you chose "Safe Mode" you will get to the log in screen. Select administrator. Select "Yes" to the window that pops up. Move all the files in your my documents folder under c:\Documents and settings\HP Owner\My Documents. If you don't your stuff will be deleted. Move it to a different folder like c:\Backup.
Then go into user profiles in control panel and select HP Owner then change password. Then reboot and you will be good.

if it is in warranty i would suggest you to call the hp guys .... if out of waranty please post the exact error message
