Question about GE PDS22SBRLSS Bottom Freezer Refrigerator

1 Answer

Flucuating temps/constant running

Freezer temps all of a sudden flucuate randomly even when the freezer hasn't been opened and the fridge motor runs nearly all the time. GE says to vaccum the coils in the back. Does that sound right?

Should fan run constant on indesit ban12fn fridge freezer?

It should shut off when it reaches the correct temperature. If you have the temp set to low it could cause it to continue to run or if there is an issue with the fridge that could also cause this issue. Keep in mind after a defrost it will take some time for everything to get back to the correct temp so it may run constant for a long time.

Fridge not cold enough, freezer is. How to get the fridge colder?

The evaporator fan motor will run only when the compressor is running. If the temperature is too warm in the refrigerator, there may be something blocking the opening from the freezer to the refrigerator.

My fridge temprature constantly keeps going up even after turning on the supper.

Something new is blocking the airway from the freezer to the fridge. Check the freezer, look for vents that have been blocked. If it has been blocked too long, ice can build up in passageways in the freezer that are hard to get to. Maybe the fan got jammed, you should hear it when the freezer door is closed. It usually stops when the freezer door is open, but if you push the switch it should run.

Whirpool wgi fridge freezer, fridge not cooling?

Most frideges get all their cooling from the freezer. There will be a fan and duct in the back of the freezer that pushes cold air down into the fridge. If the duct is blocked with ice or the fan motor has quit. Your freezer will work fine but the fridge will barely cool at all. Check that the fan runs when the compressor is running, ( turn both temp knobs to the highest cooling and leave door open until comp. comes on). If the fan runs your duct is plugged. If not you need a new " Freezer Fan Motor". Most are simple to replace and cost around $100.00.

Hello, our fridge has stopped working, the fan and motor are still running but the unit wont get cold anymore.I think it might be a freon problem but I cant be sure. The motor and fan are running constant

Your right! A freon leakage system problem cause no cold anymore.
But a temp control must be check.
A defective temp control will also cause no cold of the freezer.
The same also if compressor motor is defective even though it is running.
Call a service technician to verify the trouble of your fridge.
I hope I give you idea regarding your fridge problem.

My samsung rsh1dbbp will not cool down, when it is on the freezer won't go below -20 and the fridge +14, and it is constantly beeping even when switched off? Can you help?

Hello,
Most times this is a bad cold control, but there are other things to check for. Make sure the condenser fan is working and the coils are not covered with dust. A separated heat exchanger ( small capillary tubing soldered to the large suction line ) can separate from one another and make the fridge run too long. - tape tubing back together. A poor working evaporator fan motor could also make the fridge run too long and freeze - replace the fan motor. An inefficient compressor or refrigeration system could make the fridge run too long and freeze - have a service tech check this out. A misaligned control settings, make sure the air damper and cold control have not been bumped and are out of normal settings. Stuck open air diffusers or air dampers are becoming more and more common for allowing too much air to be blown into the fresh food section and freezing things. On all frost free fridge's the freezer temp air is blown into the fresh food section, if you have "easy" to freeze items ( eggs, veggies in water, etc ) in front of or under where the freezer temp air comes out, they could freeze - store them in a different spot. Doors not closing properly making the fridge run too long is something else to check for the air deflector As you know, the deflector directs the freezer air toward the front of the frig and the rear of the cold control.
I think this help in solving the problem.....

Fridge of my Hotpoint FFA90 fridge-freezer freezes

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.

Our 4 year old GE side by side frig suddenly warmed to 64 degrees. Freezer stopped freezing and is at 43. Motor is running.

Really need to know what motor(s) are running (compressor, evap fan inside freezer compartment, condenser fan under fridge)?? Of course, check your temperature (thermostat) settings. Side-by-sides usually have 2 of them. They should be labled for refridgerator and freezer. The freezer control usually only opens a baffle from the freezer compartment to the refridge compartment. The refrigerator temp control is the one that controls the compressor on-off cycles and the temp of refrig compartment (this keeps the refrig compartment from freezing the milk and cokes) If the freezer control/baffle is set too far open, this will cause the refrig temp control to shut off too soon for the freezer temp to get low enough. These controls can get bumped out of the correct setting accidently from time to time.
To check the following, the fridge has to be running, or in a condition where it "should be" running: If compressor is running (condenser fan should be too), check if evaporator fan (inside freezer) is running. Open (freezer) door and hold door light switch in when you check evaporator fan operation (some fans stop when door is open) If it is not running you may have a bad evaporator fan motor. It could also be a bad defrost timer, causing the evaporator (also inside back of freezer) to ice-up. This blocks the air flow over evap. Also, there is a defrost terminator switch on the evaporator coil that stops the defrost cycle when coil is clear of ice/frost (but timer hasn't ended defrost cycle). If it is defective, that could also keep the fridge from going into the defrost cycle, or taking it out too soon. If it is the timer, change the defrost terminator as well. Depending on how handy you are, you may be able to check/change any of these parts yourself. If you don't know much about elecrical stuff, you should leave it to a repair tech. Hope this helps.
