Well, if it keeps blowing, and it blew out the original, then its trying to tell you that somethings wrong. I would say that you need to replace the main transformer in your power adapter, but it would be waaaay easier to just get a new one. If you just increase the amperage of the fuses your using, you will surely damage your player.
The end of the plug which gets inserted into the cigarette lighter/power port should unscrew. Inside is a fuse. You need to replace it with the identical size and rating of fuse. Check the unit with an ohm meter for any shorts between both conductors. If the unit is shorted toss it and get a new one. If it isn't shorted it should work with a new fuse.
