Question about Canon DC210 DVD Camcorder
I have a Canon DC210, and am having a lot of problems finializing my disc. When I go into the menu, and go to Disc Operations, it will not let me select "Disc Initialize" (the font is in black). The camcorder is plugged in and everything. I am trying to transfer my footage to a computer, and any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
The way to get it to finalize is like this:
1. turn it on
2. use cord.
3.move the on buttom to mode. it will show the recordings.
4. select a recording
5.press function butom. it will up bring several choices among "menu"
6. slect menu
7. it will give you all the chioces you need to title, finailize, protect and all needed to view the dvd
let me know.

i wanna try to give some tips n share lil bit, maybe can help your problem's..umm..no our problems..
I have a Canon DC411, and am having a same problems like u all to finializing my disc.
When I go into the menu, and go to Disc Operations, it will not let me select "Finalize" (the font is in black). cause the title "finalize" unable to select.. i can't to finializing my disc.. then when i remove the disc ( Mini Dvd R and Rw) and trying to find the files on my Pc there's empty, no data..both of the disc is no file's
until i read the Canon DC 411 Guide from Cd
check the page 72, in title "Troubleshooting".. some in that problem is "how to fix or finalize Mini Dvd R, RW"
in title ; "Cannot finalize the disc". the reason of the problem's mybe like this ;
- The camcorder has exceeded its operational temperature. (The solution?) Turn off the camcorder and let it cool down before resuming use.
- Maybe your camcorder is in low power charged, if kinda like that..try Power the camcorder using the compact power adapter or use a fully charged battery pack.
, i using my camcorder very intense without let it rest for many hour.., maybe because of that thing's our camcorder can't do finalize..
what happen then? after i follow the instruction's ^_^ it's work.. i can finalize my Mini Dvd R / Mini Dvd RW data.. the menu "Finalize" in the Disc Operations is appear again (the font colour is in White), which is mean it can to Finalize the disc Mini Dvd R/ Rw too..
for those 2 type Mini Dvd, must to Finalize first..if not, u can have same problem like that..the data in Mini Dvd R / Rw cannot u open in ur Pc, or Dvd player..
but when u Finalize the disc, there must in 1 right condition, which is : When u Finalize the Disc, avoid moving..or moving the camcorder..(yeah i think u know that)..cause if u moving the camcorder..
the file's on your Mini Dvd R/Rw can't to be Finalized then if u wanna try how to fix it..i think that impossible..except.. when u record, then the disc still not yet to finalize..it still more opportunity to finalize..it, it's ok..evenly u put out the disc then you wanna finalize it..,it still can do, but when u in finailizing progreess u moving the camcorder.., umm the finailizing can be failed..which is u can find ur file's and edit the file's..

Try using dvd + rw disks instead of r only disks ....... They don't need any initializing or finalizing.
They are a bit more expensive (but being re-writable, they can be used over and over again).
It worked for me. Hope it does for you.

If the disc shows as CANON DVD when you click on my computer and look at the dvd drive you are good to go. If not, you have to finalize. You cannot initialize after you have filmed; it erases all the video. To view in a dvd player init. to video, and to view in your computer initialize in VR.
