Question about Canon Pixma MP500 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Paper feed error

Hi there,

When facing my printer, the bottom right corner gets stuck in the roller, so the paper does not enter the printer at all. A small hole(pinprick) is seen in that corner.

An error message displays stating paper feed error.

I don't see any paper jam,and only one piece of paper attempts to enter.
The angle at which it enters is ok innitially but then when the corner gets stuck, the paper does not feed in at all.

thanks

Jeanne

Hi,

Since you are seeing a pin *****, my guess, and its only a guess at this point, is that there is a piece of metal debris in that roller, perhaps piece of a staple got punctured into the roller.

What you can do:
Using a flashlight and a magnifying glass turn the roller by hand, fingers (whatever works) until you can see the culprit. Then using tweezers, grab and remove, just like a splinter, If the tweezers do not get a good enough grasp on this, try using needle nose pliers. Look at the pliers closed and held 90 degrees in front of a light source to see that the tip of the pliers are closed and not open. Use whatever you can find to dig this debris out. You may have to ask for the aid of a mechanically inclined relative or friend to help you with this.

But, in summary, this appears to be what is happening to you.

Please remember to rate solutions. Helpful is okay, but Fixed mean more to those of us who do this for free. And, I think you're on your own from this point as this has to be the issue. I wish I was available to remove whatever is there but I can't do that via email. Your debris could also be a piece of plastic or glass, I've seen everything that can get stuck in a printer get stuck there with few exceptions, but includes neck ties.

Good Luck and thanks for the rating in advance,
Worldvet

Lexmark s605 paper jamming

Sounds like an obstruction on the right hand side of the feed mechanism. All-in-ones are a pig to find these - I've had one HP almost completely stripped before I found a chad of plastic stuck in a corner. Nine times out of ten it's a torn corner of the first bit of paper to get chewed jammed in the feed slot.

WILL FEED PLAIN WHITE PAPER BUT WILL NOT FEED PHOTO PAPER

Follow the steps:
•1
Turn on the printer and press the Paper Feed switch until the Auto Sheet Feeder indicator light turns on.
•2
Pull up on the paper sheet feeder on the top and back of the printer and slide out the paper support.
•3
Take a stack of no more than 10 pieces of photo paper and flatten the corners, if they are curled. Curled corners may cause jams within the printer.
•4
Place the paper in the paper sheet feeder with the printable side of the paper facing up. The printable side of photo paper is the shiny or whiter side of the paper.
•5
Print your documents as needed.

Paper Cassette :

•1
Switch on the printer and press the Paper Feed switch until the Cassette indicator light turns on.
•2
Pull on the cassette on the bottom of the printer to slide it out of the printer.
•3
Flatten the corners of a stack of no more than 10 sheets of photo paper if the corners are curled. The paper may become jammed in the printer if the corners are curled.
•4
Place the stack of paper in the cassette so the paper is touching the right side and the printing side of the paper is facing down. Adjust the plastic paper guides so they touch the paper. The paper stack guides help facilitate the paper moving into the printer.
•5
Slide the cassette back into the bottom of the printer. The printer is ready for printing.

HP LaserJet 1320 folds over top left corner of every page printed

I see this problem alot after a paper jam occurs and someone has pulled the stuck paper out. There is probably a piece of paper stuck in the printer somwhere. If you open the front toner door and take the cartridge out, you will see a roller at the bottom front. DON"T touch the roller but take it out. You may find the paper there!

Paper does not feed completely properly.

1. Turn the printer off and open the access cover.
2. Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.)
3. Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button. (On the X83, press the Select button.)
4. Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring.
5. Check to see if all the rollers are turning.

If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6.
If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service.
6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot.
7. Turn the printer off.
8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers.
9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.

If the error still exists then its the problem with rollers it needs to be serviced..

Good luck..

Doesn't Print - Says "Paper Jam"

That is the problem, machine will show printer jam if paper feed rollers fail to pick up paper when requested, your machine sounds like it needs new paper feed roller or you can clean the paper feed roller with a slightly! damp cloth.

If no jam light shows when power is turn on and machine comes to ready and then you send a job to printer and it then shows jam then it is the feed roller or sometimes the feed clutch

If on the other hand it always show jam then there is or a switch is stuck.
