My viper 5900 has no reaction to someone touching it nor does the horn sound when it is armed. How do I set it to the most sensitive setting along with the horn sounding off upon alarming?

If you are not getting any sound then the system may be in valet. To find out if it is in valet your status l.e.d. light should be solid and not flashing. if the light is not even on then maybe your horn was never hooked up, but if the light is on then you must take it out of valet. To take it out of velet you have to turn on the ignition of the car and then shut it off... With-in 5 seconds you have to press the valet overide button. The status light should go off when you do this. The other way of taking it - in and out of valet is to open a door and press the.... lock..unlock..lock unlock... lock butons in that order.

I have a 2006 dodge stratus and the lights flash when armed but it doesn't make any sound when armed

You have to make sure it is set up to sound the horn when armed. You can go into your information on the car and set it to sound horn when arming the system

Mts mode for preset manual trans auto start function enable, does not allow car to start, instead the park light blinks seven times and give an error tone ... Thank you

There is a sequence necessary to set the Viper every time you exit the vehicle: park the vehicle, put in neutral, place foot on brake, set parking brake, remove foot from brake, remote start vehicle with remote, remove key (vehicle should remain running), exit vehicle and close door, arm the alarm with remote (vehicle should shut down). The system is now set for MTS remote start. Test the system by remote starting the vehicle now (it should remote start at this point). If you open any door after the MTS remote start has been set, you will have to do the programming sequence again. This is a safety feature because something may have changed, i.e. parking brake released when the door was opened. You have to do this sequence each time you park the vehicle if you intend to use the remote start feature.
If this does not work, there may be an issue with the installation, i.e., the door trigger connection. Using dome supervision as a door trigger won't work because during the arming portion of the above mention programming sequence(when the vehicle shuts down), the interior lights will illuminate and the Viper will read it as a door opening. So, actual door trigger wires must be used.

My viper 5900 has no reaction to someone touching it nor does the horn sound when it is armed. How do I set it to the most sensitive setting along with the horn sounding off upon alarming?

You have to find the clear mini shock sensor and use a philips screw driver to tune it up. As far as the horn that is a not a simple on/off feature, your installer would have needed to charge extra to do that.

I have a jeep with a viper 5900 installed when

small box under or around steering column. may have to remove panel under steering column or get lucky and may find it if you lay on your back on floor of driver area. look up underneath for a box 2" x 2" x 1" black box with an l.e.d. light on it. arm the vehicle and bang on steering wheel and look for the led light to light up and set off alarm. light will be red or green and will only light up during vibration.
find adjustment screw on it and turn counterclockwise.

I have a viper 5900 car alarm installed with remote start.

Look under dash for a small black box with wires coming out of it, about 2 or 3 inches rectangular.. there should be one or two screws on it. Look to see if it says which direction to turn for sensitivity. As far as not receiving, you need a new antenna, this is covered under warranty through DEI either bring back to where you purchased or look online and see where the closest dealer is to you...

Viper won't remote start and arm/disarm only works sometimes

Greetings Microluv,

Simple question, have you changed the battery in your remote lately? I was having similiar issues with my remote start and it was a simple matter of changing the batteries in the remote.

I figured lets eliminate the easy stuff first. :)
