Please check the electrical outlet in and around the area in which your appliance is plugged into. Even thou the breaker, fuze, and cable are fine, you will have to PUSH IN the cut off TRIP button located on the AC plug in panel. There are several located throughout most kitchen/appliance areas that will cut off all electricity to a specific set of plugs. If you still need help, please return.

We had a power surge and now the dryer gets very hot, it tumbles but the clothes don't dry. Could a fan not be blowing? Is it easy to replace?

Put your hand over the rear machine vent when it is turned on - if no air is felt the motor is not running. The surge may have toasted it and some other stuff if you have an electronic control board. Hopefully you have a simpler no frills machine without the fancy electronics, and it is just the motor that is dead.

LG Dryer takes too long to dry clothes

Sure the outside vent is not clogged up? If so it will overheat and turn it self off and do a poor job of drying the clothes.

Also check and make sure that all of the heating elements are working properly.

What's your problem? burnt smell in clothes

I would check your exhaust line, because all the symptoms you are listing are caused by a restriction in the air flow.

I have a Kenmore 500 series dryer, model number 110.79522800 that will note completely dry clothes. It seems like it doesn't run long enough, heat high enough or a combination of both. What can I do to...

Your Sensor that senses the clothes are wet or dry is shorted out. The dryer works likes this so the dryer heaters dont stay on while the clothes are dry. When the sensor senses the clothes are damp or wet, the heater stays on, when they start drying the sensor senses it and starts to turn down the heaters

I have a Kenmore 70 top load dryer that is not heating. And the timer doesnt turn off anymore either. Both items seem to have malfunction at the same time. Help?

This is typical. If the heating element is no longer working, the unit doesnt know to turn off due to the clothes still being wet. However, the timer has absolutely nothing to do with the heating of the unit. If the timer doesnt turn off the unit even when the time is short (example: 10 minute timed dry), the timer has a different issue. If you have merely set the dryer to dry the clothes (not a "timed cycle" to dry) then the dryer will continue to run as I have stated before. The dryer will run until the clothes are dry. Now, its time to address the heating part. Your dryer heating element has gone bad. It can be replaced if you are somewhat handy. You can pick one up from your local appliance store and it has simple instructions. Please make sure that you disconnect the unit from its power source prior to attempting any repairs. Safety First. You can also call someone to replace it for you and it shouldnt be too costly. Good luck on either option.
