Question about Refrigerators

Samsung fridge/freezer side by side model number SRS616DHSS

The front panel showing temperature and if the door is opened keeps changing even through the temperature in the fridge doesn't seem to change. Had someone to look at it on friday and he says it need a new motherboard. The fridge now keeps beeping all the time saying the fridge door is opened even through it's not.

Happened to me after a blackout and power was restored. The fridge/freezer was working ok, but would start beeping at regular but random intervals. Replacing the main board got rid of the beeping, which was driving me absolutely crazy. But the front LEDs are still not working correctly. They seem to function, as I can increase or decrease the fridge/freezer temp using them, but they don't beep as they used to, and the display doesn't change to show the temperature I have selcted before going back to the current temperature display.

display reading is all over the place, tempreture buttons somtimes work, fridge keeps beeping (drives you mad) also indicates door open whn its not.

according to a Samsung technician this is a common fault after turning fridge off at power point.

Solution.. EXPENSIVE can cost over $300 with parts and labour.and may never work as well as it did., ....get rid of fridge/ Freezer and buy a better brand.

SOURCE: Warm Fridge No Airflow...Control Panel Beeping

i just had the same call today i ordered the damper control because it seems at times more air comes in and than at time like 30 seconds later nothing and the fan is working its not mine fridge but what you can do take the freezer side upper shells off the ice maker on(not necessery but i thought it was easier) and take off the little cover which is covering the damper it has two screws and look inside of the opening and you'll see a damper, turn up the fridge and see if the damper moves and you can turn down the fridge and see if the damper is moving if not you need a damper! good luck

SOURCE: refridgerator beeps and upper section not working

First, the Samsung Refrigerator is the only fridge that has one compressor, but two different evaporators to operate the freezer and the refrigerator separately. Thus, you can have the bottom freezer working fine, while the fridge part will not.
The reason your fridge is not working is probably a faulty door switch in the refrigerator. The switch is malfunctioning, telling the computer that the door is open. Therefore you hear the door alarm go off in intervals, even though the door is actually closed. If the computer registers an open door, it will not pump cool air into the refrigerator, as that would be a waste of energy. All you need to do is replace the door switch. Until you get a new one, you can temporarily fix your fridge by simply removing the old switch altogether. You will not have any light in the fridge, however, it will cool again just fine until you are able to install the new switch (a simple plug-in contraption, by the way).
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Samsung RB1855SW won't stop beeping and fridge malfunctioning

Thanks so much for the advice. I just gently pried the door sensor switch on my Samsung RB1855SL out with a butter knife and then pulled out the electrical connection and it fired up right away. It looks like some orange juice seeped in and corroded it. What a relief to have the fridge working again, not to mention to not have to listen to the beeping.

This is going to be a problem with either the thermostat control or the compressor relay from the freezer to frigde, either way, you will need to call a service tech.

Whirlpool regrigerator door auto locks

As far as I'm aware, refrigerator doors don't have auto locks on them. What you're describing sounds like the door has a fantastic seal from a temperature change between the inside of the fridge and the room around it. When there is a drastic change, (usually warm) the refrigerator seal will seem to stick. This will wear off over time, or when the temperature changes.

How old is the fridge? Newer units will run more frequently and make "running" noises.

We have a Kenmore Elite 79577554600 Refrigerator. The temperature display is freaking out. The numbers keep changing, lights flashing on and off, temperature counting down from 44.

It is running in "store-demo" mode. Fancy light-show, and the compressor turns off (bad!)
Hold down the right-most two buttons (Ice and refrigerator temp) for about 5 seconds. I think the right-door needs to be open for this to work, but not sure.
This will activate the fridge once again.

My fridge freezer made by samsung is on the blink

These fridges have an evaporator fan motor on both sides - the freezer and fridge side. The freezer can maintain it's temperature because that fan is working fine. I had the same problem, and replaced the evaporator fan motor on fridge side, and it solved the problem. Also, if your fan motor is not working well, or stops working, the evaporator is prone to ice build up, and will prevent proper cooling. You may want to open up panel on fridge side and see if that's the case. Taking a blow dryer to the evaporator and surrounding area (while fridge is off), or letting it sit for a few hours might solve the problem. Ultimately though, it appears as if these fan motors are prone to failure, and need to be replaced.

Most likely it is the Main Control Board also called the Motherboard. It is located on the rear of the unit behind the smaller axcess panel. Becareful with the wiring if you attempt to change the board. There is a slight possibilty that it is the dispay board, but it is unlikely.

Samsung french door fridge not working?

I had the same problem ("OF" on display and not working) and just found a fix and it worked (on SAMSUNG site). It was correctly stated that fridge is in "demo" mode. You need to push and hold POWER FREEZE and ENERGY SAVER buttons (not "Fridge button and the Power Cool buttons" as it was suggested above).
