WHAT I WOULD ADVISE YOU TO DO IS NOT REPAIR IT AS THIS IS HIGHLY DANGEROUS I WOULD RECOMMEND YOU TO SCRAP IT AS IT IS MORE THAN LIKELY THAT THE ELEMENT HAS LOST RESISTANCE AND COULD CATCH FIRE.

How to check heating element

You can sometimes see the burnout of an element. In some cases it will actually burn a hole or melt a spot in the outer lining of the element. Sometimes it shows nothing. In that case it can only be tested with an ohm meter... Normal reading is approx 15 to 20 ohms. No reading at all means its burned out.

Seal-a-Meal seal has blister on it

I think that you have the same problem that I have. The protective tape over the heating element [a strip in my case] has a hole in it and allows the element to come in direct contact with the bag. Also, the heating strip had a kink in it was was no longer flat. I carefully cleaned the heating strip and flattened it out as best I can. I have ordered some tape from : http://www.ebay.com/itm/170848027703?item=170848027703&viewitem=&sspagename=ADME:X:AAQ:MOTORS:1123&vxp=mtr to replace the defective one. A simple job.

My steam mop model jc-206 shows ared light and switches to between red and green but does not produce steam.

There is a tube that goes between the pump and the heat element,I just took one apart and the tube was melted therefore prevent any steam getting to the bottom of the steam mop. Also if it isn't melted or cut the element could be blocked, take a small piece of wire and clean out the hole in the heat element.

I a Westinghouse dishwasher 920 and a plastic spoon fell onto the element while it was on and its melted the spoon on the heat element and i cant remove it. how do i replace the element i am a motor mech...

Break as much of the plastic off as you can and just let the rest melt off or melt it with a solder gun . won't hurt anything. If you want is easy to replace just hall machine from hole and tilt back remove the wires and the nuts holding it on .

I heated the fryer without oil so I am assuming I ruined the heating element because it doesn't heat. My question is ca I get another heating element?

i would have to say no i cant find online rival selling individual parts for these models. But i wouldnt assume the heating element is blown. If you feel you can take it apart look and make sure that all the wires are properly connected to the heating element and that none of them shorted out.
If thats not the case then there isnt much you can do as this is not a commercial/industrial model. I know no one likes to hear that.
If you need further assistance please feel free to follow up with a comment and i will be here to assist you. If this assisted you please feel free to rate the solution. thanks and have a great day.

A piece of plastic spoon melted on heating element. Is there a way to clean it off.

Make sure the heating element is cool. Remove as much of the melted plastic off that you can by hand first. You can use a straight edge razor to lightly scrape it off. When you have most of the material removed, get some fine emery paper or steel wool to finish removing it. DO NOT use anything that is so abrasive that it penetrates the outer shell of the heating element. Once a hole forms and water gets inside, the element has to be replaced. I hope this helps you.

NOTE: I would not recommend using any kind of cleansers as they tend to leave residue.
