Generic problem for all Tape Decks
Akai gx-77 real to reel

I have an Akai gx-77 reel to reel.
I have played tapes on it recently.
Today when I tried to use it, the auto loader roller remains at the bottom of its track and won't go up. It does make a single click sound when I press the loader up/down button.
Any advice?

WizMechanism is in need of major cleanning and lubrication. You might also consider replacing belts and rubber pulleys
