Question about Toshiba Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I'm not sure this really qualifies as a problem, but I need some help with something. I have a Toshiba Satellite A135-S4677 notebook, and I wanted to upgrade on the memory. I found the memory card I want (it's a Samsung Toshiba 1GB Module - 1 x 1GB PA3411U-2M1G), but I don't know how to install it and if I should be intalling it myself at all. Is putting the chip inside the computer something I can do, or should I just bring it to a computer store for them to do. If it's the latter, which store is recommended? Thanks, Anna

Bluetooth

Bluetooth isn't installed on this computer if F8 didn't work. You will have to purchase one. Several years ago Toshiba was putting Bluetooth drivers and controls into their notebooks but not hardware to run it. It was a stupid idea and it really lead to a lot of confusion. If you get a new bluetooth transmitter/receiver remove their drivers as well. F8 won't work on the device unless you purchase one from Toshiba.

The g and h keys came off my satellite A135 S7403 notebook. Can I find just relacement keys, or do I need to replace the entire keyboard. If I need to replace, is it something I can do myself? And if so,...

Sorry to say most laptop keyboards come complete. But Toshiba laptop keyboards are not that expensive. The labor is usually more. Some laptops keys can be reinstalled, there is a metal wire that is the piviot and the other part snap in place...Contact a independent service tech will be cheaper than Best buy, or Staples , etc...

I am having a problem with my Toshiba Satellite A135 Laptop. It will not boot up and it says Media test Failure check cable. Does this mean my hard drive went out?

Most likely, yes. First check the cabling and make sure the cables are tight on the hard drive and the motherboard. If they are, then your hard drive is bad.

HAVE A TOSHIBA SATELLITE A135-S4677 NOTEBOOK AND HAVE FORGOTTEN MY HDD1 INNER BIOS PASSWORD & NEED TO RESET IT IF POSSIBLE.

This works only for some models.

Power unit off. Disconnect AC power. Remove battery. Remove the memory cover screw, memory cover and the memory modules. Peel back the mylar. there should be a set of solder pads labeled JOPEN1. Short the JOPEN1 solder pads for 30 seconds. Replace mylar. Replace memory modules. Replace battery. Power up unit. If all is well, replace memory cover and screw. Hope this helps.
