Question about PfaFF Creative 7570

Pfaff Creative Customizing

I had this set up on my computer but deleted it and cannot now get it to work again. Can you please give me step by step instructions on how to install it. A message always comes up saying "No dongle" but the dongle is in. I have forgotten how to fix the comports (maybe this is the problem?) and does the dongle go in first or last?

    Many many thanks for all the information you have given me. I will do all you say this weekend and if I can't get it to work will send my phone number.

    The reason I messed it all up was because I was diagnosed with cancer on 18 December 2007 and given 6 months to live, so (ha ha ha!) deleted 'some' of the stuff on my computer. My daughter said 'why didn't you just throw the computer away'? Obviously I was going loony! Later that day, the diagnosis was changed to 'Can fix you with operations' thank goodness - have now had two operations, four months more chemo in a few weeks' time and a 40% chance of never getting it again. Well exactly! I refuse to have it back. So that's the story. Can't wait to give it all a go and will let you know if I am succssful.

    Hi Kim,
    Thanks very much for your kind email. I am defniitely feeling good and started chemo again. The first time I got an allergic reaction (itched all over) so they stopped it and now I'm on pills. First week this week but feel 100% and won't lose any more hair (which is growing again) and also she said not many have side effects but may get sore red hands and feet, if so have to stop pills until it is better. How old is your sister now and what cancer did she have?
    Yes I am very positive about this. Never think about it in fact.

    Now to the important stuff ha ha!!! I have finally got as far as doing all the dongle stuff and at the end you say '...install customizing'. I am now stuck! I know I had trouble with comports before. The embroidery system is already in the computer. Do I put the disk in again? Sorry to be so pathetic about this.

    I am in Australia so don't think you'll want to phone here. However I can always phone you if necessary as it costs hardly anything to phone USA with my card.

Good morning,

Hoping I recall all the steps (worked for Pfaff for 10 years doing just this type of thing but found there were a lot of variables and was never able to write them all down in one place!)

If the following doesn't work, send me your phone number and I'll be happy to call and try to walk you through getting it re-installed (

Here goes:

  1. Uninstall your Pfaff software program (either through Windows Add/Remove Programs or with the Pfaff Uninstall feature)
  2. With the dongle still connected, right click on My Computer, selectProperties, select Hardware tab, select Device Manager (assumingWindows XP if earlier version you won't see Hardware Tab - just selectDevice Manager).
  3. Locate the dongle under Universal Serial Bus Controllers (will be listed as Rainbow, Sentinal or Aladdin depending on version of dongle)
  4. Double-click the listing for your dongle, click the Driver Tab, select Uninstall. This should remove all traces of the dongle software that was previously installed.
  5. Remove dongle and re-insert in USB port. This should automatically trigger the dongle install.
  6. After dongle re-installs, right click on My Computer, select Properties, select Hardware tab, select Device Manager (assuming Windows XP if earlier version you won't see Hardware Tab - just select Device Manager).
  7. Locate the dongle under Universal Serial Bus Controllers (will be listed as Rainbow, Sentinal or Aladdin depending on version of dongle).
  8. Double-click the listing for your dongle, click the Driver Tab, select Update Driver.
  9. Make sure you're connected to the internet. A window will open - select Yes, This Time Only & follow prompts to attempt to locate newer driver. This will attempt to find the most current driver for the dongle. Depending on the version of the dongle software on your computer, it will either find a new version or tell you there is no newer one. If a newer driver available, allow it to install.
  10. Once you've finished the above to update dongle driver, close all the open windows.
  11. FINALLY, you should be able to install your Pfaff program...with no problems. LEAVE THE DONGLE INSERTED when you reinstall your customizing - even though the program tells you not to.
Rather tedious but it is necessary to remove as many traces of the previous install as possible (program and dongle drivers) before reinstalling. The key seemed to be installing the dongle BEFORE the Pfaff program, updating it and making sure it worked before trying to install Customizing.

As I indicated before, if this doesn't work, I'd be more than happy to try to walk you through - just send me a phone number and a time that would be convenient.

    Hi Jacky,

    You know... sometimes we connect with folks for a reason. My sister went through something similar at the age of 16! And told she wouldn't see her 17th birthday - and told the doctors they would have to find someone else as she was just too busy to die! And then proceeded to live her life.

    The doctors maintained that her positive attitude was truly what defied their predictions and I see that spark in your note.

    More power to you - and all the good wishes I can possibly send your way. Your strength is rare and beautiful and I am positively thrilled to hear the "diagnosis" was so wrong - and that you are doing so well.

    Hi Jacky,

    So sorry for the delay. My father passed away about the same time your note came and I've been quite busy taking care of things here. I really don't mind calling you - as we have a Vonage number that I can call anywhere just like calling next door!

    On a brighter note, I'm glad to hear your chemo situation - itching and all - sounds like it's now under control. I know from Jodie's experience that it sometimes takes a bit of experimenting to find the right combination for each individual... because we are all just that much different in how we react. Sadly Jodie passed away in 2002 - but considering she wasn't supposed to live past 17, not a bad life. And she truly did live each moment. Still miss her daily, but she certainly was proof that Cancer didn't always win - and maintained (along with all her doctors) that her attitude had more to do with it than they did!

    While I really wouldn't mind calling - I'll give the software another shot via this note. You indicate that the embroidery system is "already installed". That may be the problem. It is necessry to completely uninstall the software before going through the remainder of the steps I'd sent earlier... and installing the most current dongle software BEFORE reinstalling the program/embroidery system. When you do reinstall the embroidery system (after installing the dongle - even though the program instructions say not to) it should straighten everything out.

    Seriously though - if it doesn't work, please don't hesitate to send your phone number (you can send it to our personal email - - if you prefer not to post it for the world here!

I have a Pfaff 7570 and it will not come on. I have not used it in a while and I always leave it plugged in to the wall socket. Can you give me any ideas to try to fix it?

would you please check its batteries.?
Before you are replacing batteries leave your machine unplugged about 15 minutes and insert new batteries and plug it on ...and try it again....

I need a new mother board for Pfaff creative 1475 CD machine. The Local repair shop can not get one. Where can I buy one so I can get my machine working again?

I have Windows Vista; I also had a similar problem; found out that I could only use the usb port on my computer exclusively for sewing as the driver software seems to conflict;
Also, having said that, go to & download the free driver upgrade and see if that will get you started good luck deb

Pfaff 7570 connection to new XP laptop

In this FAQ list (from PFAFF web) you find 100 times the same question and answer:
H402 My new computer does not have any serial COM ports, so how does it communicate with my Pfaff creative 7570?

You will need to obtain a USB Serial Adapter, which adds a serial port to your computer by plugging it into a USB port. Suitable adapters can be obtained from Belkin [] and Keyspan [].
The following USB Serial Adapters are known to work with the Pfaff creative 7570:
• Belkin F5U103
• Keyspan USA-19QW
Please note that the Belkin F5U109 is listed as working with the Pfaff creative 2140/2144 (FAQ #H405), but it does not work the Pfaff creative 7570.

No communication between pfaff 7570 and computer

It sounds like you have it configured properly if you have the little machine and computer appearing on the display screen. I had this problem too in the beginning, file assistant doesn't use the files for the 7570 its only for some of the newer machines, use Vip customize to send the design to the machine from the file drop down menu. Hope this helps.

Hi Eva,
You should be able to clear the card by holding down the card key as you turn on the machine. You should then be able to reformat.

What do I do if my computer still will not recognize the machine and software?

Hi - What version of the File Assistant are you trying to run? The original version did not communicate and a subsequent version fixed this. It could also be a com port setting or a few other things.

If you email me your phone number, I'd be happy to call and try to walk you through some things to get it working. Takes too long to write and too many trouble-shooting steps that change from scenario to scenario to write it all here!

I worked for Pfaff for 10 years doing just these kinds of things and would be more than happy to try to help you out.
