Is you service plan from Apple or is it from a store like bestbuy? If it you only have apple care then they will not do anything for you, they only cover defects, and rarely even cover that. If you have a warranty from say bestbuy you will be able to bring it in and get a new one free of charge.
Is your ipod still under warranty? If so make an appointment at your closest Apple Store and they will replace the iPod for you at no charge. If it is out of warranty, you may need to replace the LCD. If you have dropped the ipod the LCD could be damaged and not be cracked. Try restoring it in Itunes and see if that helps. If not Replace the LCD and you should be fine.
if u live any where near a flee market. go there and they will fix it for cheap somehow. if not try futureShop, bestBuy, n Audios and Videos 2006 they might be able to fix it but it will cost u some **KA-ching! ** :D
So try Flea market first it will be a really less** ka-ching**
You should be able to have your iPod repaired under the factory warranty through your local Apple store, but please keep in mind that coverage for accidental and cosmetic damages may not be included. Typically problems such as cracked LCD screens, liquid spills and internal corrosion/oxidation may be viewed as accidental damage, but a final determination should always be made by a factory-authorized repair technician.
I have had a problem similar to this recently though my ipod is always white. The white screen error or otherwise known as
"white screen of death" is caused by the lcd color screen on the ipod
itself. That is why its functions still work but the screen does not.
Once you replace the color screen it will be as good as new.
