D102GGC2 Mobo MDM & NetWk chip problem

The mobo worked fine then the MDM & NW stoped working. I d/w all the right dvrs but no go. The OS is Vista Home, which ran well until. I tried to reinstall the OEM CD but no go. I did a new HD with theCD and still the chips won't work.
Intel says that mobo is for WXP and some dvrs won't work. It is in a EMachine T5082
Will and aux ethernet card work? Which one?
Is there a step by step test pg for this?

Did the new drvs and even clean installed the OEM OS CD on a blank HD, but nothing brought back the MDM and NW chips.

The chips must be dead. I am trying a new D-Link DGE-530T NW card which says it is for Vista.

If this doesn't work, then I'll but a new system.

    Thanks for your help!

This is the link to the manufacturer's website and the Vista drivers for that model.

The network is a Realtek 8139, which Vista should automatically install, but using the manufacturer's recommended drivers might be the best thing.

The T-5082 does have a few expansion slots for a new modem or network card.

On the zt1135 pavilion the brand new battery won't charge. It is the correct battery replacement. OS: windows xp home edition. The orange light on laptop lights when battery is charging. Well, after...

well it can only be 3 things
bad battery
bad power pack
bad mobo.

the mobo as a charge chip, the power pack is just 19vdc .
if the chip is bad or there are shorted modules on the MOBO
the charging will fail. (battery good.)

is the power pack new, and 19vdc and at least 65watts>?

Battery-charging-power issue,

wrong power pack, ask at yet the real HP forum
it not the pack then the power regulator chips are blown on the mobo.
a vary bad deal that.
the OS is not bad, the power runs even in BIOS and no HDD.
the mOBO is what chargers the battery.
there can be 2 chips one for main reg, and one of charge reg.
the PC sees you plug in the power pack and see power from the A/c side go good, if not it goes to battery
the chip does all That magic, not WINDOWS.

what if the new battery was bad. (lots are, ever see the huge recall on batteries?????????) for GOOD REASON.
I keep 2 good batteries from mine all the time., 2.
There is no way to diagnose any charger chip with only 1 battery
needs 2 good batteries to get hard evidence proof.
If you look at you mobo and see those 2 chips there.
mine is 8mm square, and is SMD chips
you'd play hell testing that. no? the pins are underneath it.

of the AC pack is correct, for Volts and watts
then the mobo is bad,

the switch over to Battery at AC power on,
means the AC side is bad or weak,
or the battery has shorted cell, did you measure your battery first with a voltmeter to see if one cell is shorted, as they ALL LOVE TO DO>?

D102GGC2 will not do anything!

Hi there. Have you tried running the system as a barebone?

What I mean by this:

Disconnect everything from the mobo, all memory sticks, cables, wires, and any PCI/AGP cards you may have.

If you have more than 1 memeory stick, only put 1 back in. Connect the power switch to the mobo.
Now connect the power supply to the board.
Connect the monitor to the On Board VGA port.

Now turn it on. Let me know what, (if anything), happens.

D102GGC2 mobo problem

I have built quite a few PCs and I have often found the same problem when trying to boot for the first time. An old trick that might help is to repeatedly energize then drain the PC electricity.
Do this by plugging in the PC momentarily then unplugging it then immediately pressing the power button on the PC while there is no power hooked up. Do this several times over and over again in quick succession. Finally turning on the PC with the power connected. If the power supply on the PC has a switch on it you may use that instead of actually plugging and unplugging.
Also you might try pressing and holding down the "ins" or "insert" key while powering on the PC.
Hope this helps.

Sometimes my computer restarts suddenly.

this problem is due overheating, and you say yo have a C2D with this mobo.... at intel site it said that this mobo works fine with intel P4, Pentium Duo an Celeron but not C2D. Its true that you have 800Mhz FSB and it will detect the micropro.... and work fine but the C2D will overheat the mobo for its need of energy and overheat it so it start restarting. I dont know how much that mobo is going to last but start installing all cooler you can....the mission is to cool down that mobo and micro...

It says board can take 4 gig of memory but back slots 2 big

If your MoBo supports 4 Gigs, Vista 32 bit will only utilize approximately 3.48GB, and XP 32 bit will only use 2GB, so unless you are running Vista 64 bit (which will use up to 8GB, if your MoBo will?), the OS isn't going to see but 2 to 3+ depending on which version of windows you're running,

As for the slots being too big, you are probably attempting to install the wrong RAM for your MoBo. Compare the RAM in question with what the MoBo manufacturer says is compatible.

Good luck, and I hope I helped you.
