Hey...I experienced the same problem here. However, I have no knowledge or certification in repair...just trying to see whether you think it's worth it to try and pay someone to do the fixes you recommended, or is it just time for another TV?

OK, friends.. Replace two Ic's Stk 392-110, and get in service menu settings , and adjust point by point. After replaced stk IC's, check if any resistor look brown or born, if yes, replaced it with 6.8 Ohms.SOme time SSB is defective ( small signal board, replaced it ) If you have questions? . Good Luck !!

I understand your frustrations, and if you did the work yourself you can feel really bad. In this case if you really want to save this TV, I would suggest you visit Union Electronics. And purchase a reworked replacement board. In many cases this is the best route to go and the price is reasonable. Call them at 1 800 648 6657. I have had very good luck with this company! And these boards are guaranteed, ask for the lenghth allowed. Have your TV model # and tell them you are looking for the convergence board. Thanks for asking!

convergence i.c.s change both of them even if only one color is out. if one is bad the other is usually going to give out soon. the part # should be. stk 392-120. also check resistors around i.c.s if the open you wont be able to adjust convergence.

Phillips tv , double vision,

You have bad convergence IC's. Replace both the red and blue drive chips. They are easy to spot. They are mounted to large, finned heat sinks. The # on the chips starts with "STK-" and then there are numbers following. Both red and blue use the same part. There are 20 or so pins to unsolder\solder. These parts are available to the consumer from Good Luck!!
