First make sure you have constant 12volts (no matter if the car ignition is on or off even without the car key has to be 12volts) connected to the yel. wire, them when you put the car key at the accessories position in the ignition key you must have 12vol.
If the connections are ok, check the fuse, there is one fuse at the yel wire coming from the radio and also check the fuse at the fuse panel on your car.

Bypass brake

What kind of vehicle? If you can find where the wire to the emergency brake switch (usually there is a switch at the top of the emer/brake pedal) was tapped into. Take a a test light (Bought at auto supply store) and find out if your switch is grounded or has 12vdc when emerg/brake is depressed. If it is grounded then find the wire from th dvd player and attach it to a frame ground. If it is 12vdc find some other source of 12vdc in the fuse box and put the wire to that source. If I knew what type of vehicle I can possible walk you through it.

Brake wire for Jensen VM9311ts

You first have to figure out which one of these wires goes to ground potential when the brake is engaged. Get a digital multimeter set it to read resistance (turn the dial to the omega symbol)and then connect one end to ground of the car try the outer ring of the 12 cigarette lighter and the other using the tip to pierce the insulation of one of the wires, then press the parking brake. The meter with the brake not pressed should have ---- when the break is pressed the meter should read 0000 or some value less then 1.000 ohm. The wire that goes to ground when the brake is pressed is the parking break wire and attach your DVD player brake wire to that. My money is on the solid green wire.
