Are the DVD-r's writen on your drive? If not the drive they were written on may not be compatible to your software. Try and download a Codex that is compliant with your drive model. It might help you to be able to read other DVD's ....

Where do I find a driver antec mx-100 for vista

You dont need a driver for this encosure.
However if you have installed a fresh drive in there then the drive needs to be formmatted before use

Also dont connect to older usb 1.0 ports as most of these enclosures dont work well on the older speed USB ports.

You should be able to see and initalise the drive by going to CONTROL PANEL then ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS then COMPUTER MANAGEMENT then DRIVE MANAGEMENT

Identify the drive and initalise it from there

My external hard disc moder no : TS80GSJ25S shows there is no disc in your drive

If you have used this drive before then the drive is malfunctioning and my need to be formatted. If not, then the disk could need initializing and then formatting. You can check the status of the disk using the windows disk management utility. The directions to use this utility are shown below, If the disk does not appear in the manage disks section, check the connection to the computer, and try to power cycle the drive by unplugging it, waiting for about 20 seconds and then plugging it back in. This may renew the connection and restart the drive.

Disk management utility will help you see all the drives that are connected to your computer, including internal hard drives, CD or DVD Drives, and removable storage like USB sticks and external hard drives. Using this utility, you can check for attached drives that are not visible in windows when attached to your computer. You can also format drives, change drive letters, mark a partition as active and delete partitions. A word on caution about using the Disk Management Utility: This utility can cause destruction of data. If you are not sure of what you are looking at and uncomfortable with using this utility you should consult with an advanced user before making any changes to drives using this utility.

Right click on you "My Computer" Icon

A menu will open

Chose "Manage"

The Computer Management window will open

The Computer Management window is broken down into 3 sections. The first section on the left side of the window shows a menu. Disk Management is on the lower portion of the menu.

The right side is separated into two sections, top and bottom. The top portion shows a list of active drives on the computer. The lower portion shows all drives connected to the computer. CD or DVD drives that have not disk will not show as active drives on the top section, but can be seen in the lower section.

The lower section will show the drive description, drive size and drive condition (online or off line) in small box on the left side of that section. Disk drives will designate a "Drive" and a number. Drive 0 is usually your internal hard drive. Then it would list drive 1, drive 2, etc, depending on how many internal and external drive sources you have connected to your computer. Then it will list your CD drives and generally show their drive letter assignments. Next to the smaller section described above, is a larger section which shows the driver letter, size of the driver and condition (if working correctly will show "healthy")

This is the area you can right click and get a menu that will allow you to open, explore, mark the partition as active, change the driver letter, format the drive or delete a partition. (A note of caution here. Changing the driver letter on your main hard drive partition will cause windows to stop functioning. The main hard drive, or hard drive partition, is normally given the letter "C".) A hard drive may show two or more partitions with separate drive letters designated for each partition.

A drive this is having a problem may show that it needs to be formatted (status as Unformatted). This can be done from this window. An external drive, whether it is a hard drive or CD/DVD drive, can have the letter designator change done if you want to organize your external drives

Need help burning cd with external burner

There shouldn't be a problem. Plug the drive into a USB port on the computer, connect the burner's power cable, and wait for Windows to detect the drive. Then all you need to do is tell your burning software to use that drive.

If you're using the CD burning function built into Windows, that may be giving you trouble. The burning capabilities are pretty limited. You should be using a dedicated burner program. One may have come along with your drive when you bought it. A good free burning program is CDBurnerXP. That's the one I use and it has all the features for making data and audio discs. If your drive is a DVD burner and you want to try authoring DVDs that can play on your TV, try DVDStyler. It's also a free program.

As for the burning process itself, you'll need to follow the steps required by your burning software. The help information and online documentation will help you there.

Can''t play dvd-r on my computer

Is it the DVD player/cd burner combo on your computer or simple CD player?
Compatibility: Check if your DVD player on your computer is compatible of playing -r's CD or DVD?.
Check the make and model of your computer and go to the manufacturer's website and find out from there.
You might have to talk to the manufacturer's support.
and if you are sure that the DVD player and its compatible of playing -r's DVDs then first of all check by playing any +r's DVD and see how they respond. If you are certain that it plays - and +rs etc then recheck your recording of DVD's.
Also try installing a good program software like Nero on the computer which will give you options of controlling, burning and playing DVD/CD on your computer.
Best of luck!
