If you are refering to the SYNET07526, then you are right, it cannot play online games as the processor and memory are not enough to handle the gaming. It will barely get emails and connect to the internet.

It could be your router or network settings for your internet. Do you use Port forwarding? The Playstation site tells you all the ports you need to use. Also try putting your playstation in a DMZ.
Upgrade to the newest firmware, since 3.0 had some freezing issues with some games, if your internet connection is slow it would also cause it to freeze up
probobly not ... these games may be games that can be played online there fore you have to be logged in to play these games evan if you arent playing the online part of it. hope that helps:)
