Panosonic PT-61LCX65 wont turn on, no power

My Panosic PT-61LCX65 is having a problem turning on. It was running fine and then my wife said it just.. stopped. She wasnt paying attention to it so not sure if it made a noise. Upon trying to turn it back on, the power LED blinks green (for powering on) as normal, but then I hear a clicking sound, very close together in timing, and it stops clicking.. and then comes back after about 3-8 seconds or so and will continue to do this until I press the power button again to turn it off, or unplug the TV.

I do not think the lamp is coming on because the screen remains the same shade of "black" as when it is turned off. I took off the bottom back panel where you can view the circuit boards and such, but it doesnt look like anything is blown. It is coming from the left side of the TV if you are looking at the front, right side if you are looking at the back. I think it is coming from this silver box (voltage supply?). Any ideas?

It just happens so, i have the same problem. Did you find out what was wrong, because exactly same thing happens as you have described. Same clicking noise every 8-10 seconds and no picture. Thanx!

Check your bulb. I had the same problem and it turned out that the bulb was shattered. At no time, did the lamp light turn on.

When you trun on my panasonic PT-61LCX65 tv it makes no sounds the light blinks green. and then red and turns off. what is wrong. i have looked at the buble and it looks fine.

Hello,

does the TV bring out sound even as the screen display is dark?

How long have you been using this TV and have you ever changed the lamp/bulb? Problem should be from the TV lamp/bulb.
Have the lamp replaced and hopefully, your screen should be perfect as before.

Let me know if you need directions in replacing the lamp, even though it is very simple replace.

Yours sincerely.

Panasonic TV

Good Day,christie511;
It sounds like the lamp is in need of replacement. You could call a service company to replace the lamp, but it is so easy to replace the lamp ones self. So, call Panasonic and order the lamp, they will send to your home with instructions.
Three screws and your home free!

I have the same TV and just replaced the same lampTY-LA1000.
You have to reset the clock that times the lamp.Hold down the volume button(first you turn on the TV) while holding down the PiP button or the swap Button on the remote. that fixed mine.
