the door switch is broke.when you push on the paddle of the door switch the lite should go out,if you don't see the paddle it most likely broke off,you need to send the full model number next time,it will start with 110.or similar.the door switch is a safety so the machine won't run until the door is closed,if the switch is broke no power will go to start the dryer
the one side of the door switch is bad,one side controls the light when the door is open, the other side of this switch makes the unit run when the door is closed, replace the switch,or if you dont care about the door light, reverse the 2 larger connections and it will work again, but no light with door open then
you are correct. The timer has to be turning on your dryer. You can change out the timer or have your daughter leave the door open to the dryer this will disconnect the power to the element and the motor. You can use the door permanently or just until you get a chance to replace the timer. When replacing the timer you will need to disconnect the power to the dryer. Then remove the back plate behind the timer and selector switches. This plate is held on with 5/16 hex screws. Then remove the wires to the timer it will be a multiwire plug. Pull the knobs off the front of the timer they can be stubborn just take your time and use a piece of cloth between the flat blade screwdriver and the knob/dryer if needed. After removing the knobs you will see 2 or 3 usually phillips screws under the cap. Remove these screws andthe timer will come out. You can order a new timer on line or a good supply center is Marcone Appliance in St Louis Missouri. I used them for 30 years and was pleased with the prices and prompt service. When you open the panel look for frayed or burnt wires there is a chance of this but normally the dryers timer is the problem. You can trim and repair wires with **** connectors you can get these in a kit with the stripper/crimper pliers at any hardware store. Good luck and the door thing is so you can order the part and have the time to get to your daughters home.
Hi, This indicates the sensor near the lint filter gets too hot. This is usually caused by bad air flow.Try running the unit without the vent hose attached. If the problem goes away the problem is in the ducting. You may need to have it cleaned out. May be lint filter is clogged due to the use of dryer sheets or fabric softener. You can try to clean the filter with Windex. If neither one of this suggestions resolves the issue there may be a problem with the sensor, there may be heat escaping somewhere within the dryer. This is only resolved by technician. Good Luck and have a nice day. Rating the solution is highly appreciated.
that belt part number is 341241. Depending on the type of door the dryer has, is how you approach the
access of these dryers. Mostly though you yank out the filter
first.Remove the 2 screws in the filter housing on top. Then use a putty
knife to pop the top. Remove the screws holding the front panel on.
VERY IMPORTANT! Raise the front up an inch before pulling forward or
the panel clips will break! Some models have a panel on bottom. If they
do then this panel must come off first. Then you remove the door
springs and back off the screws holding down the bottom of the door
panel. Then pop the top and remove the screws on top to get the panel
out of your way.Use the belt routing diagram found HERE.
