Ever since we moved into our new house we've had problems with our GE
Profile Convection Oven. Yesterday, it was repaired for the third time.
Tonight we tried to put it through a self-cleaning cycle and just like
before, it failed 20 - 30 minutes into its 4 hour cycle. We get an F2 code
on the digital display.
I've had it with this piece of junk. Does anyone out there have a GE oven
with a similar problem? Or do you have a GE oven that you've had trouble
getting it repaired? If so, PLEASE contact me. I would greatly appreciate
any insight you might have. Who did you talk with to get your problem
resolved? I've been dealing with the area managers, but I think I need to
go up to the next level.
Thank You

Everyone has nothing but problems with this crummy product. Like most folks I am sick of it. I keep the oven turned off at the breaker and flip it on only when trying to use it. Most of the time it will work, sometimes not. Eventually I will just replace it with new oven -- not a GE.

failing again, that the first thing this morning I scheduled the same
technician to come out. We requested the same guy because this was the
first one that seemed like he really cared. He arrived about 11AM and
listened to my wife explain the situation as she has done many times. He
determined that the ventilation fan that keeps the oven from overheating was
not working. I'm not sure if he replaced the fan or a sensor, but he
corrected the problem and then he stuck around for over an hour to watch it
during a self-cleaning cycle. When he felt that it was working, he left,
but before he did, he gave my wife his pager number in case it happened
again. He would come right back and work on it. Three hours later, the
oven completed the self-cleaning cycle. After it cooled down, the door
unlocked. Today is the first time it has ever completed the self-cleaning
cycle.
This evening we baked a pizza and it came out perfect. When the oven would
work in the past, it usually burned our food or it would not cook it
completely because of that freakin' fan not working. This is not the
convection fan, this a temperature control fan.
I'm happy and pissed. I'm happy because this is finally working. I'm
pissed because it took us so long to get it resolved. I'm pissed when I
think back to the first Thanksgiving turkey that we cooked in this oven. It
looked nice on the outside, but when we cut into it, it was not cooked.
This was after many hours of waiting for the turkey. Needless to say that
was a very disappointing Thanksgiving.
Because of all this, I will be writing to GE just to let them know the
hardship they put me and my family through.
If anyone has had a similar problem with their GE oven, please let me know.
Thanks for letting me get this off my chest.

at the same time yesterday, both crashed with F2 code. This is the
second time for one of them. It was $400 to fix it the first time, now
it might be 800. I am pissed. I noticed on one of the online parts
suppliers that the part # for the clock module has been superceded. I
wonder if this part has been updated??
If GE doesn't help me out I think I will pull these units and replace
with a decent brand. If anyone knows of a solution to this problem
please post.

model and the retail price is only $132. Aside from that the F2 might be a
minor problem. If you fill out the form here

little and give you some specific advice.

The repairman just needs to replace the control panel fan. This fan will
keep the oven from overheating.
We had this same exact problem, including the F2 code. I'm pretty sure he
replaced the fan, although it could be as simple as a loose wire that is
preventing the fan from running. The bottom line is that the control panel
fan needs to be running. You can tell the fan is working when you can feel
warm air being pumped out throught the front louvered vents. You may even
here the fan running, but you have to listen real close.
Good luck! I think GE should rebate what you've spent so far.
