No power hi experts, i'm phil from rochester, ny and i have a acer laptop extensa 5620-6635/lx.e53oz.071 15.4inch core 2 dul1.66ghz/1gb/ 120gb/ dvdrw/wxp professional notebook computer. my problem is the toshiba ac adaptor end plug will not fit into the dc-in jack tightly. therefore, i can't get a charge. is this a major problem? how can i solve it? thank you. ps. your site would not accept my above acer product.

OOPS.... OK.... it may be serious but it may also be easily solved. If what i tell you now doesnt work then the laptop is KAPUT.
Remove the battery... then remove the hard drive and the memory chips. You should find all these under latches at the bottom of the laptop .... the hard drive sometimes pulls out from the side somewhere.

ALSO TRY ANOTHER POWER SUPPLY because youyrs may be faulty. TRY ANOTHER POWER SUPPLY FIRST OF ALL !!

Once you've done that you must put it all FIRMLY BACK... If that DOESNT work you may have a DEAD computer.

You may have a faulty power adapter

if its a laptop it has to have a graphics card in it

According to the manual up to 4gb on two .soDIMM for model ex4220 only.SO yes. I would  take them back and get one 2Gb strip. Download and read the manual first, in case I missed somethng.

Yeah, well i gotta tell you, I had great problems with my acer laptop, the vgaboard broke down 3 times, ones within warranty, .. then it broke again, send it to www.acerparts.com took 6 months and finaly got my money back since they where unable to repair the problem.
