And the speakers are hooked up right ?
then it should be working..

did you check the fuses ?
did you check if it comes on with the car started?
are the wires the correct amp ?
try connecting both wires directly to the battery ?

if all that is correct then by all means you got everything hooked up corectly and it should work, return it to the store and have them check if its working correctly

KD- R538 radio wont turn on

Make sure you are getting power to both the red and yellow wires. Red is switched or ignition and yellow is constant and controls the memory of the radio.

Wiring problem with jvc radio and Pontiac Montana, looks like everything is wired correctly. Connected yellow wire to dimmer and illumination wires in metra connector for Montana. Unit will eject a cd but...

YELLOW WIRE IS CONSTANT, SO YOU NEED TO FIND A CONSTANT POWER SOURCE. GET A TEST LIGHT, GROUND IT, AND TEST THE WIRES WITH YOUR CAR OFF AND KEYS OUT OF THE IGNITION. MAKE SURE IT HAS A GOOD GROUND. LET ME KNOW HOW THAT WORKS OUT.

I have bought a jvc KD-AVX77 and every time I switch off the engine and take the key out all my settings go back to default! Can you please advise.

the yellow wire MUST be connected to constant power that stays on regardless of where the ignition key is. It isn't getting this and the memory wipes because of the power is lost when you turn off the key. The red power wire is the only one that should connect to a switched line (ie: goes off when the ignition switch is turned off).

Check your wires they might be touching steel around your car mostly look at your yellow and red wires those are the 1' that give it power and light to your radio also check your radio fuse in the back.

Hi. your radio has 2 power wires. A red one and a yellow one (with most decks) It sounds like your radio is getting only constant power but no "key on" power. Check your radio with the key on you should have power on both the red and yellow wires. If you are missing power on one of the wires theres your problem. If you have power on both wires then there is something internally wrong with your radio...
