And the speakers are hooked up right ?
then it should be working..

did you check the fuses ?
did you check if it comes on with the car started?
are the wires the correct amp ?
try connecting both wires directly to the battery ?

if all that is correct then by all means you got everything hooked up corectly and it should work, return it to the store and have them check if its working correctly

I bought a JVC KD-R620 and I can't get To power on without having the ignition wire(red) and the battery wire(yellow) connected. And it won't save my settings either..I don't have a blown fuse...

Ok, just so I get this right. You want this unit to power up, without hooking the 2 power wires??? Red is constant power, yellow is switched power. Did you use a wiring harness to hook the radio up or did you hard wire it? I alway recommend a harness. This would make the install easier. If the unit works witht them wired, use it.

I have bought a jvc KD-AVX77 and every time I switch off the engine and take the key out all my settings go back to default! Can you please advise.

the yellow wire MUST be connected to constant power that stays on regardless of where the ignition key is. It isn't getting this and the memory wipes because of the power is lost when you turn off the key. The red power wire is the only one that should connect to a switched line (ie: goes off when the ignition switch is turned off).

While testing before final installation of the JVC KD-G240 CD Player, the only power I can get is to eject a disc and temporarily display the time. I cannot turn the unit on. After pressing the reset...

This is an indication that the "ACC" line is not getting the 12 volts to turn on the radio. Check the fuses, it may have blown one. The "ACC" is the red wire that comes off the back of the radio harness. It needs a 12 volt supply when the key is turned on for the radio to work properly. When this is missing, you will have the conditions you have described. The yellow wire is for a constant 12 volts even when the radio is off and the car is off. Since you do get the eject and the clock display you have a good ground, so that is not an issue. You just need to find out why you do not have the 12 volts on the red wire when the key is turned on in the car.

My JVC KD-S25 will only turn on when I press the eject button, and then it shuts off in 5 seconds.

I just bought this stereo and installed it the other day. I had the same issue. Hook the Yellow power wire and the red accessory power wire to the same power source. That solved my problem.

Jvc car stereo 45wx4 kd sx991r ref the above how do I set bass treble and audio levels? As they are lost eveytime the keys are removed from the igition. Many thanks Paul Cook. email cookie2003@onetel.com

My bet is that the reason you loose the setting every time the key is turned off is because you have no constant power going to your yellow wire. With the power on major brands of cd players there are 3 "power" wires. One is black which is ground, one is red which is the accessory power, this is only on when the car is on, and the last one is the yellow which is constant which stays on all the time so that your cd player can keep settings. Good luck. Let me know if you need more help.

Hey there,

There are two power wires to consider when installing an in dash receiver. They need to be connected to different sources.

Red gets +12VDC when the Ignition is ON.
Yellow gets +12VDC all the time (Fused line straight to the Battery).

The yellow is most likely the problem. If it's power source is interrupted, the unit will 'forget' it's settings.

Double check your power sources (for both red and yellow) and get back with me (either way),
