Remove diodes D2500 and D2501 (which are only protection, making the TV goes to standby instead of powering on) from the main power supply board. If the light does turn to a green one instead of going back to standby and you have the sound but no image, it should be the same problem as I had, which seems to be frequent with these Funai piece of junk.

You need to replace the ceramic capacitor C2258 on the main power supply board, it should be the faulty part as it was on mine. This capacitor is near an aluminium heatsink and was slightly burnt.

Here are the specs of that part from the service manual:

As I didn't find a capacitor with these specs, I put two capacitors in parallel and it works fine now. Good luck!

I have a Samsung Plasma tv (PN59D8000FFXZA) that after my neighbors house was struck by lightning it won't turn on. What steps should I take for diagnosing the root issue?

When it get hit with any surge usually the main Board is gone, to replace it and hope nothing else is wrong, you can get a 4k LED for probably same price

Samsung model#PN51E46OAIF....TV -one year old won't turn on. Red power light blinks one time every ten seconds

If this is a plasma tv--and the model # sounds like it is it may have lost a sustain board a VERY common problem in these.

I have a Panasonic HDTV Projection Monitor. PT-50DL54J. When I turn it on, it flashes green on the power button, I can hear the fan, then it stops and flashes a red light 9 times forever. Any tips? Thanks

These blinks to standby light are fault indications. You can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it, by these blinks, called blinking codes. If you wish to know more about the blinking codes, check this link. It has details about these blinking codes, to many brand TVs including many models of Panasonic. Pull up older posts there, either by its left side bar, or see it in Timslide option.
