Control panel not functioning random starting and blinking lights

I think the console panel is faulty . i have no control when using the touch pad . for a while i was able to just press start and the dishwasher would start but i didn't have control over any wash cycles. now all the llights are flashing except the washing and it radomly starts and shuts off . I have a PLDB998ACO dishwasher and the serial # TH13848182. Can parts on the console be replaced and how to go about to test individual components.or do i need to replace the entire console ?

Thank you for the helpful information . I troubleshooted the device as you recommended and found that the control panel is at fault and have ordered a new one to install.I think this is a great service .

First thing to try is cut the power off for about 1 min then restart if that fails remove the control panel by taking the torx screws at the top of the inner door panel then there is a mylar ribbion that connects to the control from the touch pad there is a lock that holds in in either take a fingernail as its tiny and pull it up or flip it foward remove the ribbion and clean it with a pencial eraser gently then replace it and try the unit if that doesnt fix it replace the control that it plugs into

Control panel is not responding

Most likely, if power *is getting to the unit*, (there are lights lit on the washer), then the culprit will be a shorted user interface board(control panel). This is a fairly common type of issue with dishwashers. The soft-touch buttons or the touch panel has a shorted button or area(depending on the type you have) and nothing else will function because the unit thinks you're still pressing a control button. Also, a VERY common cause of this issue, aside from moisture or bugs, is a power outage damaging the console when power is restored due to a surge. After an outage where damage occurs, the symptoms don't usually start for about 3-4 weeks after due to damaged chips on the board starting to fail.

On kitchen aid dishwasher, control lock is blinking and preventing the use of any other execute buttons. Can't start a wash .

Which model KitchenAid dishwasher do you have? On some models, the Control Lock can be toggled on/off by holding the Energy Saver Dry touch pad for at least 4 seconds or until the Control Lock light turns on or off.

On another model, the touch pad to press and hold is the 4 Hour Delay button. (On that model, you press and hold for 3+ seconds.) There is often a very tiny label below or on the touchpad indicating which key controls the Control Lock.

If you haven't held the button for long enough, pressing the other touch pads will lead to the Control Lock light blinking 3 times if the Control Lock is active.

If the press and hold method still doesn't work after several attempts, then you may have a problem with the control panel. The dishwasher may need repair.

I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the model number so that I can check if a different touch pad key is the correct one for the Control Lock.

(the Control Lock feature keeps the dishwasher settings from being changed accidently or the unit started when it isn't needed. This can stop a child from resetting the dishwasher or the unit being started while you clean it.)

The lock on light wont go off. We can not start the dishwasher. We have tried holding the noheat option for several seconds and have turned off the circuit box for several minutes and neither one made...

That is the correct button to push to turn the control lock off. You can try to reset the control by removing power for two minutes. If the dishwasher is doing the same thing, most likely the touch pad has a shorted button or a bad connection on the unit control board. To check touch pad connection you will have to open the console. You will want to turn the power off to the dishwasher first.

Open the console.Once the console is open, remove and install the ribbon cable a few times. Now put the door back together and restore the power. If the dishwasher works, it was just a bad connection on the ribbon cable. If the console is doing the same thing, it could be a console or a unit control faulty. I recommend the console first.

Re-Set the control panel

if you are getting blinking lights on your console you may want to open up the door and visually look inside of the middle portion of your console and you'll observe an opening. this opening is where the latch and strike comes together to enaged power to the power board. you can take a butter knife and press the latch hooks downward. when you press the latch hooks(located on the latch then look at the front side of your console panel (at the same while holding the butter knife inside the latch keeping the latch hooks press down, press a wash cycle (normal, rinse, potspans, etc) and see if there is any more flashing. If not, then there is a bad connection with the latch.

I have a quiet partner 3 dishwasher it keeps blinking normal and I can't get it to start. Help can't find book.

If a whilpool dishwasher starts blinking one of the lights all the time the touch pad is stuck. The key that goes with that light is not working properly. The only fix for that is to replace the control panel.

The normal light on my Whirlpool DU1101XTPQ7 is blinking. Service company installed a new circuit board but this did not solve the problem. Now they are saying it's the control panel (after the third visit...

A blinking indicator light means the thouch key that geos with that light is stuck. So yes you need a control panel since the touch pad assembly is installed on it at the factory. I would have them put your old control board in with the new touch pad. It should work but sometimes they both go out.
